A ticking sound permeated the air, overpowering the soft footsteps that lingered longer than they usually did.
A blue fog - or was it a mist? None of them knew for certain what it was nor what to call it - had gathered around someone.
Heeled booted carried the steves' steps as he waded his way through the blue cloud.
Yet he stopped sooner than expected when he saw the colours shift slightly. Washed out greens alongside another colour that was a mix of indigo and violet were blending in with the pale blue.
Looking further, Time saw Sabres dull blue bandanna on the floor, still cold and crumpled like the weared had thrown it.
Picking up the soft fabric, the clock masked steve turned towards the denser section of the cloud.
"Sabre?"
Ticking and the sounds of the mist shifting (which sounded strangely of a far away ocean or the light tapping of rain) echoed throughout the house. Yet underneath it all, Time could hear uneven breathing.
The coattails of his jacket moved behind him as the clock masked steve tried to get to his friend.
Moving (and nearly clawing at times) at the misty fog to move the denser bits whilst wading through the lighter bits gave an odd sensation to anyone. However, being a part of time itself, Time had become used to odd feelings and sensations like the rushing of the clock and the migraine inducing alarm sounds that sound sometimes blare through the time dimension.Yet the feeling of the blue clouds was still foreign.
In the centre of the denser clouds was the curled up figure. Knees drawn to his chest woth forearms curled around them. His hands palms were turned up, facing him and shaking.
Their skin was significantly paler than usual, and his hair was already blending in with the clouds, some of which were still forming from his short breaths. However, this did not obscure him too much more than he already was.
Time eventually broke through the densest blue fog. The living room looked extended due to the mist with furniture that looked to have been moved further back than where it was when Time entered the room in search of his friend.
And after quickly surveying the room, from being closer to the centre with a better vantage point, Time found him.
He walked closer. Trying to make it so that Sabre knew he was there by extending his energy towards the curled up other.
"Sabre?"
More steps. Carefully placed and planned. Yet Time continued to try and reach his friend.
"Sabre..?"
Time's nervousness could be heard through his fear and caution. They all had learnt what Sabre could do...
More steps forwards and the ticking sound had gotten louder.
