It was already afternoon when a loud ding emanated from somewhere in the room. Loud enough that it woke Texas up, the sound was distinct enough to be made out as a phone notification. He stirred awake and pulled the phone from his pocket under the covers of his blanket. There was a single notification on it the front page. The phone had connected to the local network even after months of not doing so. Everything was a blur still, yet after rubbing his eyes for a solid second, he was confronted by who it was. Peacekeeper had returned, and there was a message from him.

"Shit." Texas let out the single word thinking to himself peacekeeper must want to kill them all since they just disappeared for the device so many people were banking on them for. He couldn't stop himself from catastrophising, but he continued on reading the message preview on the lock screen.

"Texas, don't bring the device. Keep it in your stash or somewhere safe for now until I tell you so. Something has gone really wrong, and several of our backers who wanted the device have died mysteriously and more disappeared. I promise you I will honour my promise but hang on for a week at most, alright? I suspect Terragroup knows about the device leaking and assassinated several people using black division."

It wasn't what he was expecting given. Since afterall, it's been quite a long while since the events at the lab. Why would Peacekeeper still care about the device and talk about it almost as if it happened the day before? He should've presumed he's never getting it after months after all instead putting all his eggs into the rickety basket that was known as trust in Tarkov. That was when Texas checked the date. Above the message was the initial message about the task and Texas' response text accepting the task.

Everything was really strange, Texas' eyes strayed down to the date as he wished to cross reference them to see how long has it been since they left remnant, but it hit him like a freight train. It only read yesterday at the side of his response to Peacekeeper, the one above the one he sent today. His phone had automatically calibrated itself to this universe before it read the date of which it was sent as it went for all messages over 2 days old. He quickly opened up the messages he had with Ozpin, and all the message sent dates were corrupted. The text was scrambled and illegible.

Everything began to piece together right there and then. The reason why the power was running was because it had been only 1 day, all the perishables still fresh, dust never having the time to build up, nobody occupying the empty hideout since their absence because they spent the day previously in remnant.

What's 1 day for their home universe of earth was nearly a year in remnant. The flow of time was very different, it seems, but at least the silver lining was that they could quite literally pick their lives just back up like that again with no difficulties. Texas slides himself off his bed and onto his feet, everyone else had gone back to bed after the notification went off but since he'd stared into the blue light of the phone screen he'd figured he should just get washed up for the day. Texas didn't know what this day held for him and the others yet, but he had a good idea of what was going to happen.

Firstly, though, he would be greeted by a very strange scene in the living room. When he opened the door, Akula didn't notice him. Instead, the living room reeked of alcohol.

"Drink...it's good...alcohol can help when shit gets like this..." Akula murmured before continuing.

"Everything is gonna be tough now, so get used to it..."

The scene before him was against all judgement. To start, Neo should be tied up, but it seems Akula cut her loose of her restraints. In a room full of deadly weapons, she could use it were a miracle. Akula wasn't bleeding out with a hole in his neck right now. Instead, Akula was right now emptying the last golden brown liquid contents of a whiskey bottle into Neo's mouth. The girl looked to be completely red in the face and barely able to take it. On the sofa were several sticky notes with words on them written down. This was most likely the way a mute Neo communicated with Akula.
