The Tarkov Central Market, originally a typical large market that the villagers of the region relied on for the trade of goods and income before the city was built up. Dating back to the days of the russian emperor Paul I, it was natural that city planners built the new central market up on top of the old one given its location near the city centre. A good compromise between suburbs and urban areas is located near the interchange Ultra shopping mall. However, following the contract wars, the area transformed into a centre of trade ruled by several traders who had shares of the market like it was a company.
The largest of which was Ragman, an Armenian immigrant who moved to Tarkv post fall of the USSR who worked as a director in the market now resembling more a mall than the traditional market. Rather than normal everyday clothes now, he trades in all sorts of military apparel and body armour. From sunglasses to the highest quality ceramic plates with the ability to stop high calibre bullets. It was like an IDEA in his section of the market. It also conveniently was formerly a store that belonged to a Russian grown competitor to the Swedish IDEA. The whole domestic greedy businessman is better than foreign greeding businessmen kind of deal.
Guards from all the traders sharing the central market patrolled throughout the area, making sure nobody killed each other in here. Within the walls of the market it was a no fighting zone, people still carried their guns as the traders couldn't be bothered to set up a system of taking away people's guns when they entered unlike Prapor does in his area.
Speaking of the guards, they were surprised upon seeing the mercernaries escorting the girls come into the area. Obviously, it wasn't a men only area, but still, it was strange to see something like that in Tarkov. The guards didn't question it, yet it didn't stop eyes from being drawn towards the peculiar group of people. The number of extended gazes also increased as customers buying or selling goods turned their heads, creating an atmosphere of fear and uneasiness.
It didn't help that the girls had been given tactical rigs too big for their bodies and temporary weapons from the stash that the mercernaries dug up. Ruby had the M4 she stole off that scav, Weiss got a 9mm Kriss Vector, Neo got a .300 blackout velociraptor.
"Just how well do you know this Ragman fella?" Texas quietly asked Floridaman, who was most familiar with the man while trying to ignore the gates they were getting from everyone else.
"Quite well, actually, he's just a chill guy that loves being a military fashion designer. What else can I say?" Floridaman responded sharply.
"I hope he has some girls' clothes. Otherwise, we might as well have gone to someone closer.
"I think Katya mentioned getting extra clothes from him. I'd assume that's girls' fitting clothes, too." Moron chimed in.
"Well, that's reassuring, at least, but his stock rotates quite often. Wait, why are you even asking me this? we all worked with him before. He knows our faces?" Floridaman added.
"He knows you the best. If I'm not wrong, he sells people things depending on the level of trust we've got with him." Texas answered.
Walking into Ragman's section, they were greeted by a maze of racks filled with military apparel except for a handful at the back of the store. Some boxes were also present strewn about and there were men scattered throughout the place, checking out the clothes. At the front counter was the man himself. With a contrasting outfit consisting of some American woodland camouflage pants and a black dress shirt with a grey blazer on top, the man was sitting on a green weapon box with a lit cigarette in one hand.
Ragman seemed to be negotiating a deal with a former USEC. The pmc had presumably brought that pile of equipment worth for 2 people. Looks like he bagged some fellow mercernaries, the lucky bastard. Now, he was trying to haggle his way to get even more cash from Ragman. Texas didn't recognise who it was. The bird like face and sharp jawline didn't ring any bells, but he sounded American, though.
