Base- Somewhere out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean

8:45 pm UTC -10:00

"Hello?" the male asked when he answered the phone after the first ring. His eyes grew wide when he heard the voice of a person tasked with picking up the twins, and his heart stopped before it skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in his chest. "What is it? What happened? Are the twins ok?"

He pursed his lips in annoyance and dipped his head closer to his chest when he listened to the person on the other end, biting back a sigh of relief. "Are they just inside the house?" he asked before he moved a hand through his hair and across his face before he shook his head. He bit back a tired sigh and shook his head, pursing his lips in annoyance when the person confirmed.

"Ok, ok," he said before he picked up a pen and started to fiddle with it. He made a quick note and cleared his throat while he grew serious. "Then wait. If they don't come out of the house for about thirty minutes, then you need to knock on the door to see what's going on. Do you know where they were beforehand?"

The man sighed when he listened to something on the other end of the line, and he placed his pen down before he moved a hand through his hair and across his face. "They might be taking a shower," he said and pursed his lips in annoyance. "Give them about thirty minutes and then knock on the door. There is no need to fight them and get them into the car. They know who they are and what they mean to us. Their spotters made sure of that before they were killed."

He pursed his lips and tucked his head closer to his chest, and guilt and pain filled his heart while he stared at the notebook in front of him. He hated how most of their spotters had been killed before they were of age, but it was something out of his control and something above his pay grade.

The person on the other end of the line said something else, and the man slowly nodded and cleared his throat while he pressed his lips into a thin line.

"Call me back when you get them," he said. "I need to see if the others are about to get collected shortly before something bad happens to them."

The person said something else before they hung up, and the man sighed and moved a hand across his face and through his hair while he leaned back in his seat. "He hasn't been spotted yet," he mumbled under his breath, his thoughts drifting to Adian and how he was slowly growing stronger. "Nor his minions. We have time."

Or so he hoped...

Lani Kekoa- Manele, Hawaii

8:30 pm HST

Lani stopped packing a bag and looked at the door when there was a knock on it. Her heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in her chest, and a look of nervousness and fear flashed across her face. "Kai," she said and looked at her brother's door. "There was a knock."

"Ok," Kai said and walked out of his room with his bag on his shoulder. "Are you ready?" he asked and raised an eyebrow while he studied her.

Lani hesitated before she nodded in confirmation and stayed silent before she picked up her bag and placed it on her back.

"Good, you are to stay behind me or stay by my side at all times. You don't need to talk to anyone bes-"

"I will talk to others and will move away from you if I want to," Lani said, interrupting him while she rolled her eyes and scowled. She looked at the door when there was another knock on their front door, and she pursed her lips in annoyance before she looked at him. "However, I will stay behind you for this."

Kai chuckled, amused and slowly nodded. He didn't say a word while he walked to the door, and she followed him. He took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh. He looked at his sister before he opened the door to reveal two large men standing there.

Lani peeked her head around her brother, but she didn't say a word while they stared at her.

Kai cleared his throat before he shifted on his feet. "Hi," he said. "Are you here to take us to where we need to go?" he asked and raised an eyebrow.

The men looked at each other before they looked at the twins without saying a word. They slowly nodded, silently indicating that they were to take the twins to where they needed to go before they moved out of the twins' way and gestured for them to leave the safety of their house and go toward the waiting car.

The twins looked at each other before they looked at the men, staying silent.

Kai grabbed his bag tighter and walked out of the door followed by his sister. He didn't say a word while he gestured for Lani to go ahead and lock the door behind her after she closed it.

Lani rolled her eyes and scowled, but she did what he told her to do and closed the door before she locked it. She didn't say a word while she looked at the men and then at her brother, waiting for him to say something.

Kai cleared his throat and shifted on his feet while he pressed his lips into a thin line. "Now what?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he studied the men in front of him. "Do we go into the car and see what's going on now?"

The men looked at each other before they looked at the twins and slowly nodded in confirmation, silently indicating that was what they were going to go ahead and enter the car.

One of the men walked toward the car while the other one gestured for the twins to follow him, and they did what they were told to do after they glanced at each other and then at the man that was walking away from them.

And when the twins started to walk toward the van, the other male followed the twins when they passed him and continued to stay silent.

The twins stopped when the male in front of them stopped, and the other man stopped in front of them. They watched as he opened the back door and gestured for them to go into the vehicle.

Kai looked at his sister and gestured toward the car with his head, and Lani rolled her eyes and scowled because she knew that he wanted her to go in first.

"Oh, my Gods," she muttered under her breath while she rolled her eyes and pursed her lips in annoyance. "We are only a minute apart, Kai. Stop acting like my dad." She got into the car and was followed by him while the men behind them cleared their throat to cover a laugh and closed the door behind them.

"Exactly," Kai said and looked at her with wide eyes, and she scowled and rolled her eyes. "We are a minute apart, but I am older than you by that minute. Now, go ahead and put on your seatbelt so that we can go." He did what he told his twin sister to do and leaned forward after he placed on his seat belt, and she did the same thing. "Anyway, have you found everyone else?" he asked the men in front and raised an eyebrow in question.

One of the men turned around to answer his question but was stopped by the other male. He bit back a small smile and dipped his head closer to his chest before he looked away from the twins without answering his question.

Lani and Kai looked at each other before they shrugged and turned to the front without saying a word to each other or to the men up front.

The men started to drive the twins somewhere, and the twins prayed that nothing bad happened to them while they learned about this new world that they were now a part of.

Oh, Gods, keep them safe...
