As Jake watched Sunghoon score a goal during a hockey match, he couldn't help but be impressed by the other boy's sheer athleticism. Little did he know that his gaze was closely trailed by a pair of dark, hooded eyes.

During a team dinner, Jake and Sunghoon find themselves sitting next to each other. While their teammates chat and joke around, the two of them remain silent, both lost in their own thoughts. After a while, Jake notices that Sunghoon is quietly sipping his water and staring off into space. Unable to resist, Jake leaned over and spoke in a low voice.
"You're not very talkative, are you?" Jake teased, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.
Sunghoon looked up, startled to find himself the subject of Jake's attention. He bristled at the other boy's words, his face betraying a hint of irritation.
"I have nothing to say."
Sunghoon retorted curtly, his grip on his glass tightening a fraction.
Jake raised an eyebrow at the other boy's brusque reply.
"What, am I not worthy of your words?" He said, his tone laced with mock offense.
Jake's smirk grew wider at the other boy's prickly response.
"Oh really? Like what? Practicing your death glare in the mirror?"
Sunghoon's expression darkened at the comment, but before he could retort, one of their teammates, Heeseung, butted in.
"Hey, relax, guys. It's all in good fun, right?"
The two of them fell silent, shooting each other resentful glares across the table.
Days turned into weeks, and the interactions between Jake and Sunghoon continued to be frosty and terse. Despite their differences, an almost strange sense of rivalry had developed between them, as if each of them was determined to prove that they were better than the other.
