"Phi Hanwool..."
She woke up from a bad dream, gasping for air the moment she opened her eyes. She looked around only to realize she was inside her room; her eyes continued to roam around her surroundings, trying to tie the knot between her confusion and the answer she didn't know who could answer.
"How did I manage to go home last night? " she mutters under her breath while feeling the softness of her bed, still in confusion. She flinched when the door suddenly opened wide with her mother going inside her room and then closing the door behind her.
"You're awake. How are you feeling? " Her mother worriedly asked the moment she faced her daughter. Yebin's mind was still in haywire, with a lot of questions going on inside her mind. The only thing she remembers was encountering Minwhan last night. What could possibly happen after she fainted?
"I'm fine, I guess? " She doubtedly uttered.
"What happened last night? " Yebin asked waiting for an answer. "You fainted in the alley. Luckily, Hanwool found you, and he carried you back home. "
"Did I just hear it right? Or am I dreaming?" She thought.
"Hanwool?! Phi Hanwool?! " Yebin's eyes widened as if she heard the most shocking news of her life. She didn't expect or even imagine how Hanwool carried her last night. Her mother slowly nodded, and Yebin still couldn't process how she ended up with Hanwool that night when Minwhan was there.
"Probably, it's a setup. " She thought.
Yebin cursed in silence, annoyed that she had let this happen. She looked into her mother's eyes with an apologetic look scattered on her face. Her mother just smiled and pulled her daughter into a warm embrace. Even if her daughter didn't tell her straight, she knew she'd be guilty of having interaction with Hanwool again. She knew she was trying her best not to.
"I'm sorry. I know I promise to you..." Yebin apologizes.
"It's okay, I'm not mad. You know I can't, especially if it's you. I can't resist you. " Her mother softly caressed her cheeks as Yebin held her hands with a smile. This side of her doesn't usually show in others; despite her being the coldest person other people think, she is still the soft little girl in her mother's eyes. The little girl who just wanted to escape from her own.
"No, I promise you that I will try my best not to talk to him or even have a connection with him ever again. But I-" Her words were cut off. "And you try your best. It's okay, as long as he doesn't hurt you. "
"But of course... Don't let your dad know this happened. A secret between us okay?" She added. Yebin obediently nodded her head; even though she didn't intend that to happen, she was sure the chance of encountering Hanwool would increase, especially now that she was back in Yuseong.
