I woke up at seven in the morning, feeling way better than I did yesterday after work. Pretty sure I got a solid eight hours of sleep, and honestly, that was more than enough for me.

I stayed in bed for a while, just staring at the ceiling, letting my mind wander. Thinking about my life, about everything going on right now. And honestly ? I felt...accomplished. My dream of becoming a surgeon had come true, I was surrounded by the people I loved, I had my kids with me, and—most importantly—I was healthy.

But still...I don't know.

It felt like something was missing.

I mean, I was happy—really, I was. But there was still this one thing, this empty space that kept me from being fully happy. And I hated that.
I hated it because I knew exactly what it was.

And I also knew I could never have it. Which meant, I'd never really be completely happy.

But I had to accept it at this point.

I let out a heavy sigh, reaching for my phone on the nightstand to check my messages. Today, the kids and I were going to my mama's for lunch, and after that, we were all heading to the amusement park. I had promised them a while ago and but never found the time to take them, so today was the perfect opportunity.

But they didn't know that yet. I was going to surprise them.

Just as I was about to get out of bed, the door creaked open, and the triplets walked in—Kylie leading the way with a tray full of food in her hands, while the boys followed closely behind. Kayson held up a bouquet of sunflowers, and Kaiden carried a pitcher of lemonade. A smile spread across my face as I sat up straight.

"Good morning, mama !" They said in unison.

"Good morning, my babies." I said softly. "This is for me ?"

They nodded.

Kylie placed the tray on my lap and plopped down at the edge of the bed, the boys settling in on the other side of me.

Kayson carefully handed me the bouquet. "These are for you, mama. We know you love sunflowers."

I took them, bringing them to my nose to smell. "Thank you, guys. I really appreciate it. But...what's all this for ?"

I loved the attention, but it wasn't my birthday or anything.

"You were tired yesterday, so we just wanted to make you feel better." Kaiden shrugged.

Aw, they were so thoughtful. They reminded me so much of their mom.

"Well, it definitely worked." I smiled. "I love y'all so much. Thank you ! Come here so I can hug y'all."

I hugged each of them before sitting back against the headboard. I placed the bouquet on my nightstand and glanced down at the tray. Everything I loved was there—pancakes, bacons, eggs, sweet bread, honey, and an empty glass, probably for the lemonade Kaiden was still holding.

"We made everything you liked. We also wanted to bake cookies, but we ran out of flour after making the pancakes." Kylie explained, the other two nodding along.

"That's okay, babies." I said before raising an eyebrow. "Wait...y'all made this by yourselves ?"

"Well, yeah." Kaiden said like it was obvious. "And we ate already. It tastes so good."
