I woke up to the sound of faint rustling. As I blinked my eyes open, adjusting to the soft light in the room, I saw Zayn Sir standing in front of the mirror, fastening the buttons of his shirt.

Noticing my movement, he caught my gaze in the reflection. "Good morning, Mrs. Miller," he said smoothly.

"Good morning, Sir." I replied in my sleepy voice. "You're going somewhere?"

"Office."

"I-I'll get ready." I tried to get up but he spoke.

"No. You won't go."

"W-What?"

"Yeah, you won't attend the office from now on."

"What? Why?" I asked in shock and stood up from the bed.

"Because I said so."

"Excuse me. You do not have any right to order me."

"I do. I am your boss and your husband."

"Listen-"

"No. I don't wanna have this argument early in the morning."

"I will work! I don't care what you say," I declared. As I tried to go to the washroom, he suddenly extended his leg, nearly making me fall. Just as I lost my balance, he caught me.

My eyes widened at this sudden move. He spoke "I am not asking you to quit working, just stay at home for a few days."

"Why should I?"

"Because I said so."

I pushed him away from me and stood straight "Get it straight, I am your wife not your slave whom you'll order and she'll listen to you."

"I told you once, you will not go to the office. And it's final." He announced and just left the room without listening to me.

"What the fuck!?" I was so mad! I was so fucking mad! How could he?

I am not gonna let him go so easily.

My first day as Kiara Miller... the beginning of my new life should have been exciting, right ? Instead, Zayn's father and Zack were furious with me. But honestly? That was their problem, not mine.

I found Mum and Grandma, the only two people in this house who didn't look at me like I was a walking disaster. Their presence was warm and familiar. I let their voices soothe the chaos in my mind, let their words remind me that I wasn't alone or hated.
