Chapter: 83
*VALE.
"Vale..." he moaned again, and the sound was intoxicating. With every thrust of my fingers and stroke of my hand, I watched as his face transformed, a mix of bliss and need that made my heart race. The air around us seemed to shimmer with energy as my pheromones enveloped him, swirling in misty blue and white hues, filling the room with a warmth that was uniquely ours.
As Virgil reached his climax once again, his body tensing and arching against me, he inhaled deeply, drunk on the sensations I was giving him. I felt him release, the sound of my name on his lips, a symphony of ecstasy that echoed in the bedroom. The moment he fell back against the pillows, utterly spent, I couldn't help but smile.
I took a moment to compose myself, my heart still racing from our connection. With a soft sigh, I cast a protective barrier spell around the entire East Wing, ensuring that no one with ill intentions could cross the veil and harm my Virgil. It was a necessity, a promise I made to keep him safe.
Once the barrier was set, I turned to Altair. "Take care of him," I instructed gently. "I have to return to the calm Ethereal to keep my vow to the Goddess."
("I will,") he replied, his voice steady. He understood the weight of my absence, the necessity of my duty even though he knew nothing of it. I leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Virgil's forehead, whispering a silent promise to return.
"Our Brith Omega, though he has offended us, we erred in our retaliation. It is only just that we seek to make amends," I expressed.
("Apologies,") Altair interjected, and I affirmed with a nod. ("I will visit the manor at dawn to seek forgiveness.")
"Thank you, my half," I acknowledged.
("Take care, and return soon. My abilities are limited without you by my side,") Altair cautioned.
I acknowledged his warning, knowing the difficulty of parting from Virgil in such circumstances, with only a few more lunar remaining until my oath to the Goddess is fulfilled. "I love you, Virgil," I whispered.
As I retreated, Altair emerged, the transition seamless. He kissed Virgil goodnight, a gesture filled with tenderness that made my heart swell. I watched as he prepared to leave for Elysium, knowing he had missed class the day before. Though he had questions about what I had to give to the Goddess, I understood he would wait until I was ready to share.
Even in silence, I knew that whenever our mate needed us, I would always emerge. This understanding became a lifeline for Altair, a reason to press through life and confront our Birth Omega. And as I faded into the Calms of Ethereal, I felt a sense of peace, knowing that together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Before the Goddess, I knelt, my forehead touching the cool, ethereal ground, a gesture of both submission and gratitude. The air shimmered around me, heavy with the weight of her presence. Her light enveloped me, a warm embrace that felt both familiar and foreign, filling me with a sense of purpose and serenity.
"Vale," her voice cascaded like a gentle waterfall, echoing through the vastness of the realm. I lifted my gaze, meeting her luminous eyes, which held the depth of the cosmos within them. "You have come for your last vow."
I nodded, my heart racing. "I am grateful for your blessings, my Goddess. For the strength you have given me to protect what is dear."
Her form radiated a brilliance that made it difficult to look directly at her, yet I could feel her gaze piercing through the layers of my soul, understanding the struggles I bore. "You have fought valiantly, my spirit wolf. Your devotion has not gone unnoticed."
As she spoke, visions flickered in my mind—moments of love shared, laughter echoing through, and the warmth radiating from Virgil's smile. Each memory filled me with a bittersweet yearning. "It is just a few more before you are free from your duty to me," she continued, her tone shifting, as if the fabric of fate itself trembled in the air.
The weight of her words settled on me like a cloak. Freedom felt so close, yet the path ahead was still shadowed with uncertainty. "And then I can return to Altair, to Virgil... completely," I breathed, the desire to reunite surging within me.
"Indeed," she affirmed, the light around her pulsing gently, "but beware, for what appears to be well may conceal treacherous depths."
I felt a shiver run through me, a portent of things yet to come. "What do you mean?" I asked, my voice barely rising above a whisper.
"The future is steeped in deaths and tears," she warned, her expression grave. "Though your heart is strong and your intentions pure, the threads of fate are woven with peril. Those who seek to disrupt the balance will not rest easily."
Her words struck like lightning, igniting a storm within me. I envisioned the challenges that lay ahead, the potential for loss that echoed in the shadows of my heart. "I will protect him," I vowed, the determination surging through my veins like wildfire. "I will not let anything harm my heart."
The Goddess smiled, a mixture of pride and sorrow in her expression. "That is the spirit I cherish, Vale. But remember, the heart is both a weapon and a vulnerability. Love binds you, but it can also leave you exposed."
The weight of her wisdom wrapped around me like a shroud. I took a deep breath, grounding myself in the moment, the light of her presence infusing me with strength. "I will guard my heart, my Goddess. I will be vigilant."
The Goddess's voice resonated through the shimmering expanse of the Ethereal, pulling me deeper into the depths of her wisdom. "You must return not to the voids, but your half and to Virgil... and you must make haste," she commanded.
As her presence began to fade, I felt a sudden pull, a disorienting sensation that whisked me away from the warmth of the Ethereal.
