If the Avengers thought interrogating five demigods at the same time was a bad idea before, they were about to deeply regret it.
Percy was happily sipping his third blue Coke, leaning back in his chair like he didn't have a care in the world. Will had some kind of sports drink. Annabeth, Clarisse, and Nico all had water—though Nico's looked slightly suspicious, like he had somehow managed to get coffee into it.
Fury stood at the head of the table, arms crossed, staring them down. The Avengers were lined up behind him, clearly preparing for another round of complete nonsense.
"All right," Fury started, tone sharp. "Let's try this again."
Silence.
He sighed. "Names?"
Annabeth took a sip of water. "You already know our names."
"Full names."
Nico quirked an eyebrow. "Why? You writing a biography?"
Fury ignored him. "Clarisse La Rue."
Clarisse just stared. "...What about me?"
"What's your relation to Jackson?"
Clarisse smirked. "Oh, we have a very complicated relationship."
Percy snorted. "Yeah, she tries to kill me weekly, but I think it's just her way of showing affection."
Clarisse grinned. "Exactly."
Fury sighed again. "Right. And you—" He pointed at Nico. "You still haven't given us your last name."
Nico took a slow sip of his drink. "Didn't know it was required."
Fury's eye twitched. "It is required."
Nico shrugged. "Too bad."
Before Fury could snap at him, Natasha cut in. "Where were you the night Sally Jackson and Paul Blofis were murdered?"
Annabeth answered in Ancient Greek. "Καμία ιδέα. Μήπως να μας πείτε εσείς;" (No idea. Why don't you tell us?)
Natasha frowned. "English."
Percy grinned. "Do we have to speak English?"
"Yes."
Will raised a hand. "What about Spanish?"
"No."
Clarisse leaned forward. "Pig Latin?"
"No."
Nico hummed. "Morse code?"
Fury pinched the bridge of his nose. "Just answer the damn questions."
Annabeth shrugged. "Why? You won't believe us anyway."
Fury exhaled through his nose. "Fine. Let's make this simple." He pulled out a file and opened it. "These names—Piper, Jason, Thalia, Frank, Hazel, Leo. Do any of them mean anything to you?"
Silence.
Percy's fingers tightened around his soda can.
Fury narrowed his eyes. "We looked them up. All of them are dead."
The room went cold.
Annabeth's knuckles turned white against the table. Nico's face remained impassive, but his eyes darkened. Will clenched his jaw. Clarisse's hands curled into fists.
Percy didn't look up. His blue Coke fizzed softly as he swirled it in his hand.
Fury watched them closely. "We're trying to figure out why every single person connected to you seems to end up dead."
