The night was still, heavy with tension. A campfire crackled quietly in the center of the small clearing, its light casting long shadows across the tired faces of the demigods and Avengers gathered around it. No one spoke. Even the insects seemed to have gone silent, as if the world itself was holding its breath.
Rachel Elizabeth Dare sat close to the fire, her green eyes distant, fixed on the flames as though she could see something beyond them. She hadn't said much since they made camp, but every demigod present recognized the signs: something was coming. Something big.
Steve Rogers sat nearby, his expression thoughtful but cautious. Tony Stark leaned back against a rock, arms crossed tightly across his chest, his usual flippant demeanor nowhere to be found. Natasha and Clint stood off to the side, scanning the dark trees as though expecting something to emerge at any second.
Out of nowhere, Rachel's hand trembled. Her eyes glazed over with an eerie green light. The demigods immediately straightened, recognizing the moment for what it was.
Without warning, Rachel spoke, her voice layered, distant, and ancient:
"Three souls will cross paths,
Bound by fate, or lost to wrath.
The storm shall rise,
Where darkness lies,
And heroes, broken, will not stand.A titan's call,
The rise, the fall,
An ancient power in desperate hands.
One will choose to turn the tide,
One will choose to let it slide. The third, the key, to all that's lost,
A sacrifice, at a terrible cost."The fire guttered under an invisible wind as Rachel's voice faded, leaving only a deep, trembling silence in its wake.
Rachel blinked and swayed slightly, catching herself before she could fall. Will was at her side in a second, steadying her.
"I hate when that happens," she muttered weakly, her voice returning to normal.
The Avengers exchanged quick glances. Even for them, the atmosphere was unsettling. Prophecies were not part of their usual experience.
"What... was that?" Steve finally asked, his voice low.
Rachel shook her head. "I don't control it. I just deliver the message."
Nico stepped forward, his expression dark. "It's a warning. And a bad one."
Tony frowned, his brain working at a mile a minute. "Let's piece this together. 'Three souls.' Could be three demigods. Could be anyone."
"Or," Natasha added, "it could be Percy, Annabeth, and Clarisse."
The mention of their missing friends' names brought a shadow over the demigods' faces.
Nico crossed his arms. "It's bigger than just finding them. The prophecy is about something ancient. Something that even the gods fear."
Clint rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "The line about 'broken heroes'... that's not good. It sounds like we're going to take heavy hits, no matter what we do."
Will , his hands shoved deep in his jacket pockets, added grimly, "Prophecies never promise victory. They promise choices. And consequences."
Bruce Banner, who had been listening silently, finally spoke. "You said something about a sacrifice. Someone's going to die."
Rachel didn't meet his gaze. "Maybe, prophecies are open to many interpretations."
Nobody spoke for a long moment. The fire crackled and popped, filling the silence.
Steve finally broke it. "Then we need to prepare. If Kronos is really coming back—or something like him—we have to be ready. Together."
Tony smirked slightly, but there was no humor in it. "First aliens, then killer robots, now ancient titans. We really need to start charging extra."
The demigods didn't smile. To them, the threat wasn't just another mission. It was personal. They had fought wars most mortals never even knew about. And they had lost friends along the way.
Rachel finally stood, brushing ash from her jeans. "The prophecy isn't set in stone. We still have time to change the outcome."
"But time is running out," Nico said coldly, his gaze sweeping the camp. "And if we don't act soon, we'll all be too late."
There was a heavy pause. No one knew what to say. For the first time, the Avengers and the demigods understood each other—united not by choice, but by the looming shadow of a war that could destroy them all.
As the fire burned lower, the stars overhead wheeled silently in the sky, indifferent to the fate of the small group below. And for a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath once again.
FINALLY YES!
