A strange yet strong and warm light forced my eyes to flutter open...

(...where am I...)

I shift around, and examine my current state.

The golden glow of an old study. Old yet very familiar. Like I've been here before.

I stepped lightly down from the high leather sofa, minding the glass coffee table, I walked forward. In front, was an old desk. Touching it with my fingertips reminded me of how I used to sit here reading books.

Books with colorful pictures and lots of words I couldn't understand, words I couldn't read.

The sound of laughter , echoed around me. A game of hide and seek.

Suddenly, it became cold, and dim.

An icy wind blew around me, and the desk started getting dusty. Spiders made a home at every corner of the room. And the couch was covered in ugly plastic.
The scent of cigars grew stronger. As the wine stains faded , becoming one with the surroundings.

I looked back and saw a door.

A white door , with light shinning beyond its cracks. I reached for it, as I were about to touch the handle I-

"Y/n? Are you okay..."

My eyes adjusted to a new light. A blurred figure in front of me, holding me close.

The warmth of their body allowing me to calm down. My hands still trembled as I tried wondering what was going on.

I picked myself up slightly to get a better view.

I was still in the same place as I was before I passed out. But just a few minor details that were different.

For one, there was blood on the floor, which definitely was not mines, I hope. And next to that was a broken glass bottle.

I looked up at the person beside me and it was none other than Cyrus.

"A-are you okay..."

He asked again. A splash of concern and worry was not the only thing I spotted on his face.

I shifted away from him.

"...what happened, how did I blackout...I was just...and he was..."

...

"Y/n, its rather late now, so let me have a guest room prepared for you. You can leave in the morning."

Still seated on the ground I looked up at him as he rose up. That was one of the many ridiculous things I've ever heard.

"Thanks, but I can't stay in a place where some stranger tried to - Aahh..."

Cyrus effortlessly lifted me off the ground and began walking.

"Hey! Put me down. I can walk perfectly fine on my own."

...

"You're not fine..."

He whispered under his breath, I was so close to his chest I could feel his heartbeat.
I remained quiet the rest of the way. If I'm being brutally honest, he was right.

I was not fine.

Things like this has become a norm for me, yet somehow, I still feel empty, scared and really sad about it. If things could be different , I mean, if I could go back... no what I mean is, if I was able to... ugh... forget it.
