SIGYNETH
Ontario was finally warming up. About time, Sigyneth thought as she tugged at the collar of her blouse. Xavier's School for gifted youngsters was fine. She had enjoyed it. But the cold months were awful, locked in a big building with over a hundred teenagers, all moody, all mutants, it was hell. But hey, that's boarding school for you.
One would think Sigyneth would be sad about leaving, that she would miss it. Sadly the answer was 'No'. In fact, she hoped her dad would arrive even faster so she could book it out of there.
"Waiting, I see..." Cooed a man as he approached Sigyneth, who was leaning against the wall.
"Professor Summers." She greeted, straightening herself. Professor Summers nodded at her, a gentle smile on his face. "Are you excited to go home?"
Sigyneth shrugged her shoulders. "Can you call it home if you've never been there?"
"Maybe not yet, but eventually, perhaps, you may find yourself as comfortable as you were here." Professor Summers replied as he gazed at the smaller children running in the lawns. Sigyneth sighed. Home... The word seemed so distant to her. She had been away for too long, the place she once called home had been destroyed when the Mandarin attacked. The other place that came to mind was just a Holiday house, meant for vacations and special events, she couldn't call the Lake House 'home'.
"Have you packed everything?" Professor Summers asked, glancing down at Sigyneth's small mountain of suitcases.
"Most of it." She nodded. "I gave a few boxes to Professor Monroe so she can give things to the girls."
Professor Summers chuckled softly. "Look at you being so caring."
"I am caring." Sigyneth scoffed. "They're just kids."
"You forget you're young too." Professor Summers told her.
"Still old enough to fight alongside you." Sigyneth retorted with a smirk.
Summer's looked down, a smirk forming on his mouth as well. "I wouldn't have brought you along in a million years if it had not been for Xavier's orders."
"Yet you did, and I ended up saving your butt a couple times."
Professor Summers let out a laugh. Dammit, Sigyneth really liked his laugh. She even felt her heart give a little flutter. He had been her Geometry teacher as well as her Driving instructor, and throughout time she had developed a massive crush on him, as did many other girls.
"That's your ride isn't it?" Summers asked, as he pointed at the town car driving up the Manor's path.
"Oh," Sigyneth mused. "Discreet... how rare."
"Would you rather he arrived in his suit?" Professor Summers teased.
"I wouldn't put it past him." Sigyneth laughed as she began to descend the steps of the Manor.
The car stopped near the front, of course earning glances from those on the lawns. The back door popped open and Sigyneth was met with the horror of balloons pouring out while School's Out by Alice Cooper began to play at full volume within the vehicle as Tony Stark stepped out with a huge bouquet of yellow roses that had a Graduates cap in the center.
"There's the graduate!" Tony called with a smile, dancing up to Sigyneth while Pepper slid out from the car. "Congratulations, kid." He raised his arm and gave Sigyneth a firm side hug. "How do you feel about surviving high school? Piece of cake right?"
"Yeah." She replied, watching as Pepper said something to the driver and the music died down. She then made her way for Sigyneth, her arms extended beckoning her into a hug. Sigyneth let go of Tony and tossed herself into Pepper who breathed her in.
