Sunday's pov:

~A Few Days Later~

It had been a couple of days since the whole motorcycle incident, and honestly, I was still torn. I couldn't deny that the rush of it had been fun, but I couldn't help but be worried every time I thought about Y/N zipping around on that bike. She seemed to think nothing could ever happen to her, but I knew better.

I was sitting at the kitchen counter, scrolling through my phone, when I heard a knock at the door. Before I could even get up to answer, the door swung open, and in walked Y/N, looking like she was about to ask me for something.

"Hey," she said, her tone casual but with that underlying edge that told me something was coming. "Can we talk for a minute?"

I raised an eyebrow. "What is it now?"

Y/N hesitated, biting her lip like she was debating whether or not to spill her plan. When she finally spoke, her voice was almost sheepish.

"I was thinking..." She took a deep breath before continuing, "Can we go on a late-night drive? Just you and me. On the bike. I know you're probably still freaking out, but I really want to do this, Sunday."

I stared at her for a moment, my heart skipping a beat at the thought. A late-night drive? My mind immediately went into protective mode, but I couldn't deny how much she was begging with her eyes, the way she was trying to be playful, to act like it was no big deal.

"You're really pushing it, Y/N," I said, crossing my arms over my chest. "I still don't like the idea of you on that thing, especially at night. What if something happens?"

She stepped closer, giving me that pleading look that always made it hard to say no. "Please, Sunday. I know you're worried, but I promise I'll be careful. It'll be fun—just a quick ride. I just... I just want to be with you. Can we go?"

I looked down, trying to figure out how to say no. But then I saw the sincerity in her eyes, the way she was so desperate for me to say yes. It hit me all at once—she wasn't just asking for a ride. She wanted us to be together, to have that moment.

I sighed, feeling the weight of my concern mixed with the temptation to make her happy. "Fine," I said, rolling my eyes. "But I'm not going to enjoy this."

Y/N's face lit up, and I could see the excitement bubbling up inside her. She was already grabbing the helmet from the coat rack, ready to go.

"I knew you'd say yes," she said, practically bouncing on her feet. "I'll take care of everything. Just trust me, okay?"

I nodded reluctantly, following her outside. The night air was crisp, the streets quiet under the dim glow of the streetlights. The sound of the motorcycle engine revving sent a shiver through me.

I stood there for a moment, hands in my pockets, as Y/N fastened her helmet and prepared to hop onto the bike. There was a nervous knot in my stomach, but I couldn't help but be curious. Part of me wanted to experience the thrill of the night with her—just the two of us, lost in the quiet of the empty streets.

"Are you getting on or what?" Y/N called over her shoulder, her voice teasing as she glanced back at me.

"Yeah, yeah," I muttered, reluctantly taking the helmet she handed me. "But you better be careful, Y/N."

She smirked, clearly pleased by my reluctance. "I promise I will be," she said, though I could tell she was trying to hold back laughter. "Now, hop on."

I put the helmet on, adjusting it as I walked over and climbed onto the back of the bike, trying not to look too nervous. Y/N had that usual confident grin on her face, her hands already on the handlebars.

"Ready?" she asked, looking at me with that familiar spark in her eyes.

I nodded, though I could feel the anxiety creeping back. "Let's get this over with."

As Y/N revved the engine, the sound filled the night air, and we were off, speeding down the quiet streets. The world blurred around me, and despite all the warnings that had been circling in my head, there was something exhilarating about being here with her, the wind against my face, her warmth against my back.

We drove in silence for a while, just letting the rhythm of the ride take over. I felt the tension in my body start to ease, the exhilaration of the night filling the gaps left by my worry.

Y/N was right—it wasn't so bad. The speed was thrilling, the wind rushing around us, but there was something about being close to her, her body shifting with every movement of the bike, that made me forget all about the fear.

"You okay back there?" Y/N asked after a while, her voice soft but still teasing.

I couldn't help but laugh, the nervousness turning into something else—something light. "Yeah, I'm good. Not so bad."

She grinned at the sound of my admission. "I told you. I'm a great driver."

I rolled my eyes, leaning my head against her back as we zoomed through the streets, the city lights flashing by us. It felt like we were the only two people in the world, racing through the night, and for a moment, all my worries disappeared.

As we pulled into a quiet spot by the lake, the engine quieted, and the world seemed to slow down. Y/N parked the bike, and we both sat there in silence for a moment, the sound of our breathing and the gentle waves of the lake filling the air.

"You were right," I said softly, turning to her with a genuine smile. "That wasn't so bad. It was... nice."

Y/N looked over at me, her expression softer now. "I told you. It's just us, Sunday. I wanted to show you something special. A little adventure. Just you and me."

I leaned forward, the tension between us shifting into something deeper. "I think I might have enjoyed it," I admitted, my voice quieter now.

Y/N reached over, brushing a strand of hair from my face as she gazed at me with that same adoring look. "I'm glad you did," she said softly. "Maybe next time we can go even farther."

I laughed, though my heart was racing in a different way now. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

She grinned, leaning in closer, and for a second, I thought she might kiss me, but instead, she just hugged me tight.

"I'm glad you said yes," she whispered into my ear. "It's perfect when we're together."

I smiled, hugging her back, the quiet comfort of the moment settling over us. In that moment, I realized I was more than just okay with the ride—I was ready for whatever adventures she had in store for us next.
