Professor Oak's Introduction

"Ah, but Pokémon training isn't all about battling! Some Trainers prefer to show off their Pokémon's beauty, grace, and personality in Contests, performances, and even the world of fashion and movies. Your region can have its own unique way for Trainers to express their creativity beyond battles. Will it be Contests, Runway competitions, or even Pokémon acting in films? Let's explore the glamorous side of Pokémon!"

1. Pokémon Contests: Showcasing Talent and Style

Pokémon Contests are a major alternative to battles, where Trainers compete by showing off their Pokémon's skills, charm, and coordination.

➡ Different Contest Styles in Past Regions:

Hoenn's Pokémon Contests (RSE & ORAS) – Focused on five categories: Cool, Beauty, Cute, Smart, and Tough. Pokémon use moves to impress the judges.

Sinnoh's Super Contests (DPPt) – Featured a Visual Round (dressing up Pokémon), Dance Round, and Move Performance Round.

Kalos' Pokémon Showcases (X/Y anime – Serena's Journey) – Pokémon and Trainers performed together in themed showcases instead of traditional battles.

Try This!

Does your region have traditional Pokémon Contests, or a unique take on performances?

Will there be a judging panel, fan voting, or a tournament-style competition?

Can Pokémon learn special Contest Moves that are different from battle moves?

➡ Example: A new type of Contest where Pokémon perform elemental stunts—Fire-types create fireworks, Ice-types sculpt frozen statues, and Flying-types do aerial tricks.

2. Contest Ribbons: Collectible Symbols of Excellence

Instead of Gym Badges, Contest participants earn Ribbons, which symbolize their Pokémon's performance skill and artistry.

➡ Examples of Ribbons in Past Regions:

Hoenn's Ribbons – Awarded based on Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Smartness, or Toughness.

Sinnoh's Super Contest Ribbons – Given for Dressing, Dancing, and Performing.

Alola's Ribbons (Pokémon Refresh) – Given for bonding and care.

Kalos' Princess Keys (Pokémon Showcases) – Collected to enter the Master Class Finals.

Try This!

What do Ribbons look like in your region? (Do they have unique shapes or colors?)

Can collecting enough Ribbons unlock a Grand Contest or Master Showcase?

➡ Example: A "Celestial Ribbon" given to the most graceful performers, allowing them to enter a Legendary Contest featuring Mythical Pokémon.

3. Pokémon Photo Shoots: Capturing Beauty and Personality

Photography is another way for Trainers to express creativity and bond with their Pokémon. Some regions include photo booths, themed sets, or magazine covers for Pokémon photography.

➡ Examples of Pokémon Photography Features:

Alola's Poké Finder (Sun/Moon) – Allowed players to take and edit photos of Pokémon in the wild.

Kalos' PR Videos (X/Y) – Let Trainers create short promotional videos with their Pokémon.

Paldea's Selfie Mode (Scarlet/Violet) – Gave Trainers full control over posing with Pokémon.
