Reborn With A Detector: The Path Way Back To My World

The sky, had never seemed, so grey, not even, on the stormiest of days. I clutched my umbrella tightly, though the rain did little to hide, the tears that streaked down to my face.

The bustling, crowd moved, around me indifferent, to my presence as if I were, a mere shadow, in the chaotic cityscape. I always thought, I had time-time to fix things, to repair the broken pieces, of my life but, life it seemed had other plans.

I had been ordinary or so I believed. No grand accomplishments no earth-shattering discoveries. I'm just a young woman trying to survive in, a world that often felt stacked against me. Bills to pay, dreams put on hold relationships, strained to our breaking points, my existence had been a series, of compromises, one after the other.

But that day was different. That day the end came, suddenly and cruelly.
It started with a sensation a heavy, weight, pressing against my chest as I made my way home.

I thought it was just an exhaustion, the culmination of years, of stress piling up. But as my vision blurred, and the world around me dimmed. I realized something was terribly, wrong. My legs gave out beneath me and I collapsed, onto the cold wet pavement.

The sounds of the city, faded replaced by a deafening silence.

As I consciousness, slipped away a strange voice echoed in the void.

"Candidate 477-B detected. Synchronization with Detector System commencing."

My thoughts scrambled to make sense of the voice. What was this? Was I hallucinating? Or perhaps this was a cruel trick played by my dying mind.

"Congratulations, Candidate. Your previous life has been deemed incomplete. You have been selected for the Detector System Reincarnation Program. Earn points, restore balance, and return to your world."

I wanted to speak, to scream to demand some answers but my body no longer responded. Instead my mind floated weightless, as the voice continued.

"Your journey begins now."

A blinding light, enveloped me and the last fragments, of my old life faded into oblivion.
