It was a chilly December weekend, and Daisy was nestled comfortably in her living room, sipping a piping hot cup of white hot chocolate. The warmth of the drink contrasted with the cold, crisp air outside, and it brought a sense of cozy comfort. To many people's distaste, she still loved it-white hot chocolate, with its creamy sweetness, was a treat she had never outgrown, no matter how childish it seemed to others.

Just as she was about to take another sip, her phone buzzed on the coffee table. It was Sadie. Her heart skipped a beat. Quickly, she snatched it up.

"Hello?" Daisy greeted, a little surprised.

"Hey, Daisy!" Sadie's voice rang out with excitement. "Everyone from school is at the lake. They're all hanging out, having fun, you should totally come over. It'll be great to see you!"

Daisy could hear Stacy's voice in the background, joining in. "Yeah, come on over! The whole school's here! It's the perfect night."

Daisy glanced out the window at the twinkling stars and the moonlight dancing on the snow-covered ground. It was already past sunset, and the chill in the air was biting. She sighed but smiled, feeling a little guilty for having spent most of her day inside. "Okay, hold up," she said, "I need to change. I'll see you guys in 15."

After hanging up, Daisy set down her cup and quickly ran upstairs to get ready. She was excited but felt a little nervous too. It had been a while since she had been part of a big group hangout, and something about the night felt different. She brushed the feeling aside and hurriedly threw on a warm jacket, a scarf, and a pair of gloves. She grabbed a new mug of white hot chocolate before heading out the door, eager to join her friends.

As she stepped outside, the cold air hit her immediately, making her breathe out in little clouds. The streets were quiet, the world feeling still and serene, except for the crunching of snow beneath her boots. The sky was a mix of deep blues and purples, and there was a faint glow coming from the distant lake, where everyone was gathered. The night had an enchanting, magical quality, almost like something out of a fairytale.

Daisy walked briskly, trying to shake off the chill, her breath clouding in front of her as she neared the lake. She could already hear the sounds of laughter and music drifting on the wind, filling her with a sense of nostalgia. The sight of all the twinkling lights, the warmth of the bonfire, and the chatter of her classmates made her smile.

When she finally reached the lake, she found Henry, Liam, and Drew in the midst of an epic snowball fight. The air around them was filled with the sounds of laughter and playful shouts as snowballs flew through the air. Faye, Dominic, and Elliot strolled together along one of the frozen trails, their laughter mingling with the crisp winter air.

The bonfire caught her attention next, and she made her way over to where Sadie and Stacy were sitting, huddled together on a log, their faces illuminated by the crackling flames. Daisy beamed at the sight of them, feeling a warmth spread through her chest, the fire mixing with the joy she felt from being around her friends.

"Great to see you, Daisy!" Stacy greeted her with a wide grin.

"Yeah, it's been too long!" Sadie added, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Daisy smiled and sat down beside them. "It's really good to see you both, especially on such a beautiful night," she said, wrapping her hands around her mug. "This fire feels amazing."

"We spent at least ten minutes getting it started," Sadie laughed, her cheeks rosy from the warmth of the flames.

The trio sat for a while, chatting about how their winter break had been so far-how everyone had been caught up in holiday plans, school, and life. It was nice to reconnect, especially on a night like this. Sadie stood up for a moment and returned shortly with hot cocoa in hand. "I got you the white chocolate one," she said, handing Daisy the steaming cup.
