The Room of Requirement

NEVILLE CAME RUNNING into the common room one afternoon not too long later, panting for breath as he quickly waved Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the others around to follow him.

He said he found a place for our Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons to take place.

"You've done it, Neville." Hermione gasped as we looked around the room with mirrors and bookshelves and all sorts of things covering the walls. "You've found the Room of Requirement."

"The what?" Asked Ron.

"It's also known as the Come and Go Room." Hermione explained. "The Room of Requirement only appears when a person has a real need of it and is always equipped for the seeker's needs."

"So, say you really needed the toilet..." Ron started and I shared a glance with Fred.

"Charming, Ronald. But, yes, that is the general idea."

"It's brilliant." Said Harry. "It's like Hogwarts wants us to fight back."

"It's bizarre. One time we hid from Filch in here." Fred stated. "Remember that, Georgie?"

"Yeah, but it was just a broom cupboard then."

The rest of the group was told to meet in the room, and were told where to find it. Then we decided on a name.

"Can we be the Anti-Umbridge League?" Angelina said first.

"Or the Ministry of Magic are Morons Group?" Fred suggested next and I chuckled.

"I was thinking more of a name that didn't tell everyone what we were up to, so we can refer to it safely outside meetings." Hermione said, frowning at Fred.

"The Defense Association?" Cho said. "The DA for short, so nobody knows what we're talking about?"

"Yeah, the DA's good, only let's make it stand for Dumbledore's Army, because that's the Ministry's worst fear, isn't it?" Said Ginny, and I wondered if she just didn't want to have the name Cho came up with.

There were murmurs and laughter after that.

"All in favour of the DA?" Hermionr asked and I raised my hand, along with most of the group. "That's a majority. Motion passed!"

For the first meeting as 'Dumbledore's Army', we had wooden dummies designed to look like Death Eaters that we were practicing spells on.

First was Expelliarmus.

"Oh, please, I don't think Expelliarmus is exactly going to help us against You-Know-Who, do you?" Zacharias Smith scoffed, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms across his chest.
