Addison walked to her last class of the day: cheer. She knew her mind should be on how she would lead class today, but she couldn't get it off of the werewolves, and the 'thievery' that they had told her about in the library. She entered the gym, the other cheerleaders already there and ready for practice. She set her stuff down and ran over to the bustling crowd, blowing her whistle as she ran. They all stood at attention once they saw her.
"I am so fired up to be running class today. I was thinking, after warmups, we start with a..." She trailed off as she noticed Bree pointing behind her at the bleachers. Addison turned and saw a cluster of werewolves.
Addison raised an eyebrow at the wolves relaxing on the bleachers. "Sorry, but if you're in this class, I expect you to participate." Wynter growled at the order, but Wyatt put a hand on her shoulder, forcing her back down. "So if we would like to be here, we just join?" Wyatt asked cautiously. Addison waved them down. They slowly joined the cheerleaders in one big block as they stretched. Once they were done, she turned on their wordless practice music. "We're doing the felt polish eye shrub snap routine, make sure you keep those moves snappy!"
They got into formation and began their dance routine, the werewolves weaving in and out of the cheerleaders as they went along. The other cheerleaders hoisted each other into an arch for Addison to do a plank exit button freedom flyer patriotic Seabrook special through as their grand finale. She prepared herself, then dove into the nearly impossible move. Addison was nearly through when her head began to hurt and her vision grew fuzzy. The floor swayed beneath her as she went into the last flip. She could tell she hadn't jumped high enough, the ground was approaching her too quickly.
Before she could hurt herself, somebody caught her. Addison felt her headache dissipate and opened her eyes.
"That was a close one there," Wyatt said. "Are you okay?" He set her on her feet. Addison held onto his shoulders for another few seconds before letting go. "Yeah, I'm feeling better. That was amazing. The werewolves have such natural talent! You all should join the team." Wyatt's wolfish grin widened, just as the doors burst open.
Addison and the wolves all whirled around to see Zed stalking towards them, Eliza following on his heels, an exasperated expression on her face.
"Zed? What's wrong?" Addison stepped out of the group of wolves and cheerleaders to meet him.
"We need to talk. Now."
Addison turned back to the cheerleaders. "I'll be right back. Class is almost over, so go change or cool down for the rest of it. You're all dismissed!" Zed took her by the wrist and led her out into the hallway, Eliza being left behind. The doors behind them clicked shut, and Zed whirled around to her.
"What was that?"
"What was what? Cheer practice? I got to lead it today."
"No, the thing with Wyatt. What was that? You two looking dreamily into each other's eyes as he caught you?"
"He saved me from falling. I would've hit my head and been out of cheer for who knows how long?"
"You won't have a cheer team if I don't win this, Addison. I need the wolves to vote for me, and you having them cheer for Bucky isn't helping me at all. This is bigger than just us. I'm trying to win for you, Addison. So you can have your cheer competitions and lead us to yet another victory! That can't happen unless I win."
"I've worked my entire life to be cheer captain, Zed. If you were running for president for the right reasons, then I would love to support you. But I can't throw away something I've worked for just for our relationship."
