Kansas City – Training Facility

Travis walked into practice feeling like absolute shit. His body was fine—he'd been through worse physically—but mentally? He was all over the place.

Between Scottie's hospital stay, Taylor barely speaking to him, and the media running wild with their own narratives, his head wasn't in the game.

"Damn, Kelce, you good?" Patrick clapped him on the back as they made their way onto the field.

Travis rolled his shoulders. "Yeah, I'm good."

Patrick gave him a knowing look. "Bullshit. You're thinking about something. Or someone."

Travis sighed, gripping his helmet. "I ain't in the mood, Pat."

Patrick smirked. "Oh, so it is about a girl. Which one?"

Travis shot him a glare, and Patrick threw his hands up. "I'm just saying, man. You're playing with fire."

Travis didn't respond. He just jogged toward the practice drills, pushing everything else to the back of his mind.

For the next two hours, he focused on football—the one thing that actually made sense.

But then, in the middle of running a route, his phone started blowing up from the sidelines. One notification after another.

It took all his willpower not to check it, but when Matt Nagy called for a water break, he caved.

TMZ Headline:
"TRAVIS KELCE CAUGHT LEAVING KAYLA NICOLE'S HOUSE—WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE TAYLOR SWIFT?"

His stomach dropped.

He didn't even realize Patrick had walked up behind him until he whistled low. "Whew. That ain't a good look, bro."

Travis clenched his jaw. "I just spent the night there to be with the kids."

"Yeah?" Patrick raised an eyebrow. "You tell Taylor that?"

Travis exhaled. "She's not gonna like this."

Patrick patted his shoulder. "Yeah, no shit."

Kansas City – Kayla's House

Kayla was in the middle of making lunch for the girls when her phone started blowing up.

She frowned, unlocking it—only for her stomach to drop at the flood of messages.

Brittany: Damn girl, they really don't give you a break.

Taylor Rooks: You okay? I saw the mess online.

Unknown Number: You're ruining Travis and Taylor's relationship. Leave them alone.

Kayla stared at that last message for a second before blocking the number.

She didn't have the time or energy for this shit.

Just as she put her phone down, there was a knock at the door.

She opened it to find Taylor Swift standing there, sunglasses on, arms crossed.

Kayla blinked. "Well, if it isn't America's sweetheart."

Taylor lowered her sunglasses. "Can we talk?"

Kayla smirked. "Oh, I'd love to. But let me guess—you wanna talk about Travis?"

Taylor exhaled sharply. "You know why I'm here."

Kayla crossed her arms. "Alright. Say what you gotta say."

Taylor hesitated, then finally spoke. "The media thinks you and Travis are back together."

Kayla snorted. "I can't control what the media thinks."

Taylor's gaze hardened. "No. But you can control what you do."

Kayla let out a bitter laugh. "Are you seriously blaming me for this?"

Taylor held her ground. "I'm asking you to be honest. Do you still have feelings for him?"

Kayla's jaw tensed. "That's none of your business."

Taylor's lips pressed together. "I think it is."

Kayla exhaled, stepping closer. "Listen. Travis might be your boyfriend, but he's my family. Whether you like it or not, we're always gonna be in each other's lives."

Taylor didn't flinch. "I know that. But what I don't know is whether you actually respect our relationship."

Kayla's eyes darkened. "You really think I'm trying to steal him from you?"

Taylor didn't respond.

Kayla let out a cold laugh. "Wow. You're more insecure than I thought."

Taylor clenched her fists. "You're right. I am insecure about this."

That made Kayla pause.

Taylor inhaled sharply. "Because I see the way he looks at you sometimes. And I hate it."

Kayla's smirk faltered.

Taylor swallowed hard. "So just... answer me this. Do I even have a chance?"

For a moment, Kayla didn't say anything.

Then, she met Taylor's gaze and said softly—

"I don't know."

And with that, she closed the door.

Kansas City – Travis' Condo

Travis had just walked in the door when his phone rang.

Taylor.

He sighed, bracing himself before answering. "Hey."

"Did you stay at Kayla's last night?"

Travis froze. "...Tay."

"Just answer the question."

Travis rubbed his temple. "Yeah. I stayed with the kids."

Silence.

Then, Taylor laughed—except it wasn't happy.

"You know what?" she said, her voice sharp. "I'm tired, Travis. I'm tired of looking like a fool."

Travis' stomach tightened. "Tay—"

"I can't do this," she whispered.

Travis' heart stopped. "What?"

Taylor exhaled. "I love you. But I can't be in a relationship where I always feel like I'm second place."

Travis felt like he'd been punched in the gut. "Tay, that's not true."

"Isn't it?" she asked, her voice cracking.

Travis opened his mouth—but no words came out.

Because deep down, he didn't know if he could truthfully tell her no.

And that scared him.
