The morning came faster than I had hoped, the sun was shining brightly for a winter morning. I yawn sitting up and spotting that Paige was no longer in the bed causing me to feel nervous.
I could hear muffled laughter from downstairs consequently making me get out of the soft bed. I grab some sock from my bag and pull them on before making my way down the stairs.
"Would you like some more pancakes" Luca asked Paige which she happily agreed making Amalia laugh at her happy dance.
I stand in the door way watching the scene unfold in front of me. Although Paige looks nothing like the family it was as if she belonged to them and nothing was wrong.
"Aofie your awake!" Paige squeals climbing off the seat and jumping into my arms. I place a small kiss on her head before placing her back onto the floor
"good morning sunshine" I laugh at her when noticing the chocolate all over her mouth.
"hey kid do you want a pancake?" Luca asks whilst he put another pancake on Paige's empty plate.
"yeah sure that would be great.. Thank you" I tell him a small smile playing on my lips.
"what time did you get up?" I ask paige which she shrugs before moving to dig into her next pancake.
"she woke up around eight this morning but I was already up so I put the telly on for her until dad got up" Amalia said answering my question.
"you slept forever I got bored" Paige said in between bites.
"maybe if someone wasn't lay ontop of me asleep I would have been able to fall asleep better" I say cheekily to Paige.
She sticks her tongue out at me making me laugh. She was the cutest in the morning especially with the bedhead making her look like a tiny gremlin.
"is there any chance I could use a shower?" I ask Luca hopefully. I really needed to get these plaits out which had started itching my head.
"yeah of course there's one down the hall, the last door to your left. towels are in the cupboard in the bathroom" he tells me whilst pouring more batter into the pan to make me a pancake.
"thank you ill only be a couple of minutes" I tell them standing up from the Island and making my way down the hall.
"ill shout when your breakfast is ready" Luca calls after me. I make my way into the bathroom and find the towels easily. They were soft and smelt like lavender, I had never smelt lavender smelling towels before.
I hurriedly take my pajamas off and step into the shower, I hoped nobody would mind if I used the shampoo, conditioner and soap, but just incase I only used a small portion.
minutes later I had gotten out the shower and gotten into some leggings and a white hoodie, my hair dripping slightly making small drops of water run down my back causing me to shiver.
it would be a lie if I had said I wasn't nervous about the DNA results today but the thought of everything being confirmed created a pit at the bottom of my stomach.
I make my way back into the kitchen to see a pancake laid on a plate next to Paige which I assumed was for me.
"oh wow" Luca said noticing me standing there, he was staring at my hair his face full of amusement.
"sorry if I'm my hair is dripping water on the counter but I didn't want to waste another towel" I tell him sitting down and reaching for the sticky golden syrup which was sat in the middle of the Island. I wouldn't have been reaching for it if I hadn't seen Paige use it a little while ago for her own pancake.
