You awoke with your eyes flying open and a sharp pain shooting through the middle of your chest.

Sweat dripped off your body as you looked around the room. It was still the middle of the night, with the moonlight shining over your body through the open window.

A deep breath escaped your lips as you shook your head slightly and turned to your left side. Immediately a grin formed across your face upon seeing Kid's face sleeping peacefully.

Slowly you sent one of your hands to carefully caress his cheek before moving up to touch his hair.

Your hand softly raked through his black locks, the soft curls that now held the symmetrical lines of Sanzu.

His face was calm as he slept peacefully, in complete bliss from finally having a chance to sleep.

You leaned yourself up on your elbow as you gazed at his face, relishing in the sight of him resting.

Kid is always so busy taking care of the DWMA as the headmaster and also as the death god. Ever since the passing of Lord Death when you were around fifteen, Kid was forced to take up the role his father once had.

You could see it was working Kid to the bone. Even though he was now a true death god, he still had that human soul within him.

He grew tired; he grew hungry; he had human needs he needed to take care of, which he would often forget to do if it were not for you.

A quiet sigh left your mouth as you continued to run your hands through his hair. With Kid being so busy monitoring the world and performing his duties as a death shinigami, you tended to take care of anything you could do.

You were already an instructor at the academy, but you also served as the second Headmaster. You took on any job that was needed and helped anybody in the school that required assistance.

Yeah, it wasn't just Kid that was busy. You both were so occupied these days that sharing a bed together was like a rarity.

Who would have thought that you'd be so busy like this as a young adult? It felt like just yesterday; you all were still young children battling Kishins with no other worry in the world.

A sudden faint, groaning noise caught your attention. Kid squirmed in his spot next to you, the blanket bunching down to reveal his bare torso.

"What are you doing awake?" He asked, his voice hoarse and thick with sleep. He tried to open his eyes to look at you, but they were heavy and blurry.

"Shh." You hushed softly and placed your hand over the male's face to shield him from the moonlight that was peering in. "It's still late. Go back to sleep, love."

Kid grunted before slowly taking your hand off his face and now looking up at you with his golden orbs that held the skull-shaped pupils.

"I won't be able to if you don't sleep with me." He replied, causing a smile to form on your lips. His voice was still hoarse, slightly arousing from the deepness in his tone, but you pushed the naughty thought aside.
