The realization that the time gate had begun pulling creatures from beyond the Mesozoic era sent a wave of urgency through Prabu and his team. If they didn’t act quickly, the delicate balance of the Prehistoric Zoo—and possibly the entire island—could spiral into chaos.
Back at their central command station, a high-tech facility hidden within the dense jungle, Raka and Dr. Wren frantically worked to analyze the latest disruptions. Screens flickered with data, showing readings that fluctuated wildly. Creatures from the Permian, Triassic, and even the Devonian periods were appearing across the island.
"The gate isn’t just malfunctioning," Dr. Wren muttered. "Something—or someone—is interfering with it."
Prabu’s jaw tightened. "That means this isn’t just an accident. Someone tampered with our technology."
Saka, who had been monitoring the outer perimeter, burst into the room. "We have another problem. The Mosasaurus isn't the only marine reptile that’s shown up. A Dunkleosteus was spotted near the river delta."
"Dunkleosteus?" Lina’s eyes widened. "That thing is from the Devonian period—hundreds of millions of years before dinosaurs even existed."
Tegar ran a hand through his hair. "That means whatever’s happening is getting worse. If we don’t shut down the time gate soon, we could end up with creatures from before life even left the oceans."
Prabu took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. The time gate had been their greatest achievement, allowing them to bring dinosaurs into the present without tampering with history. But now, it had become an uncontrollable rift, spilling ancient life into their world.
"We need to go to the gate itself," he decided. "We have to see what’s happening firsthand."
Raka nodded, already gathering his equipment. "I’ll set up a stabilization field to prevent anything else from coming through while we investigate."
Within the hour, the team boarded their hover transport, gliding across the jungle canopy toward the remote location of the time gate. As they neared, they could see the anomaly in the sky—a swirling distortion where time itself seemed fractured. The air crackled with energy, and through the rift, glimpses of ancient landscapes flickered like a broken film reel.
As they landed, the ground beneath them trembled. A deep, rumbling roar echoed from within the jungle.
"That’s new," Lina said cautiously.
Before they could react, the trees ahead snapped apart as a massive creature emerged.
Standing before them was a Therizinosaurus—a towering, feathered dinosaur with scythe-like claws that gleamed under the dim light. Its sharp eyes locked onto the group, assessing whether they were prey or a threat.
"Careful," Prabu whispered. "It’s not like the carnivores—it’s territorial, but it will defend itself if provoked."
Dr. Wren slowly raised a scanner. "It must have come through during the last fluctuation."
Saka moved cautiously, activating the signal disruptor to see if they could contain the anomaly without drawing more creatures through. But before they could proceed, another figure stepped through the time gate.
The entire team froze.
It wasn’t a dinosaur. It wasn’t a creature at all.
It was a person.
Dressed in what appeared to be ancient, primitive armor, the man’s piercing eyes scanned the landscape as if searching for something—or someone. His presence sent chills down Prabu’s spine.
"Who the hell is that?" Raka whispered.
Dr. Wren’s voice was barely audible. "I think… we just found the real reason the gate is unstable."
The team had expected to deal with dinosaurs. But now, they were face to face with a traveler from the past. And whatever his intentions were, one thing was certain—their mission had just become far more complicated.
