Emily's POV

As I stirred awake, the sunlight poured through the curtains, bathing the room in a soft golden light. It took me a moment to gather my thoughts, my eyes drifting to Noah. He lay there blissfully asleep, looking utterly peaceful. A smile crept onto my lips at the sight of him, warmth flooding my heart. Quietly, I slipped out of bed, careful not to disturb him, and made my way to the bathroom. Today was an important day , the day of the ball we had been anticipating.

After a long, refreshing shower, I lost myself in the steam and warmth, letting the droplets cascade off my skin. Wrapped in a towel, I stepped out, my hair still damp and wild, and headed to the closet. I opted for a comfy pair of cotton shorts and a matching shirt that felt soft against my skin. As I made my way back to the bedroom, I found Noah had woken up, his playful smirk greeting me the moment I entered.

"Good morning," he said, his voice still thick with sleep as he took in my appearance. I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks as he stood, crossing the distance to me and pulling me into a gentle embrace. He planted a soft kiss on my lips, and for a moment, everything else melted away. His hands snaked around my waist, and he inhaled my familiar scent, a mix of soap and something uniquely me. He held me close for a moment before heading back to the shower, leaving a pleasant heat in my chest.

A short while later, Noah emerged, towel wrapped firmly around his waist, water droplets creating tiny drips across his chest. Catching a glimpse of him made my heart race; he was undeniably handsome. I forced myself to focus on getting dressed, checking myself in the mirror. By the time I managed to pull on my wedges, Noah had changed, appearing before me in light blue jeans and a snug white t-shirt. The outfit hugged his physique in all the right places, and he finished it off with white sneakers, effortlessly stylish.

We made our way downstairs to the dining room, where a lavish breakfast spread was waiting for us. The table was bursting with delicious options: fluffy pancakes, a vibrant fruit platter, and an assortment of pastries. I filled my plate with pancakes and berries, while Noah opted for a full hearty breakfast of eggs, crispy bacon, and sausages. We dug into our meal, the sound of laughter and the clinking of cutlery filling the air around us, as we stole little glances and exchanged easy banter, enjoying these moments together.

After breakfast, Noah excused himself to deal with pack business. I wandered into the castle library, seeking solace among the dusty books. I settled into a plush armchair, thumbing through an old mythical book about ancient times. The tales of heroes and legendary creatures drew me in, transporting me to places filled with magic and wonder.

However, I soon lost track of time and realized it was nearly time to prepare for the ball. In a rush of excitement and nerves, I dashed back to our room, almost colliding with Liam in the hallway. "Hey, good luck tonight!" I called out, his face lighting up with the prospect of finding his mate among the guests. At breakfast, Royal Beta Harrison had announced that all packs would be attending, and I secretly hoped Liam would find true mate tonight.

Opening the door to my shared room with Noah, I was greeted by the sight of him holding out his midnight black suit and an emerald green bow tie, both neatly laid out. He had a serious look on his face. "A lady-in-waiting will come to help you get ready," he informed me, his tone firm. I wanted to argue that I preferred doing things myself, but when he insisted, I couldn't help but feel a sense of honour in accepting help as his Luna Queen.

With that, something shifted in our atmosphere. Noah stepped closer, his gaze unwavering. "Emily, can I ask one more thing? Tonight, will you bear my mark? It shows everyone who you truly are." His voice was steady and sincere, and I felt a rush of emotions at his words. Looking into his eyes, I saw the love and dedication he held for me. "Yes," I replied without hesitation, heart swelling at the thought of our bond becoming even more profound. A smile broke across his face, and before I could fully process it, he drew me into a fervent kiss.

The kiss ignited something deep within me, a warmth blossoming in my chest that spread through my entire body. I melted against him, feeling every beat of his heart synchronize with mine as he trailed soft kisses along my neck. I could hardly breathe; every sensation was intensified, a thrilling rush that made my cheeks flush with heat.

He paused at the spot where my neck met my shoulder, and I felt his breath against my skin; a warm whisper that sent shivers cascading down my spine. When his lips met my skin, I was lost in the moment. There was a tenderness in his touch, yet a palpable urgency that left me breathless. My pulse quickened as he pressed his lips more insistently, exploring the sensitive curve of my neck with his mouth.

Then, he gently nipped at my skin. A slight pain pierced through me, but it wasn't painful in the way one might expect. It was exhilarating, a jolt of electric heat that mixed seamlessly with the pleasure spiralling through me. I gasped, a sound of surprise and yearning that escaped my lips, gripping his shoulders as if he anchored me to reality.

He drew back, his gaze locking onto mine, and I saw something primal and hungry flicker in his eyes. When his tongue flicked out to taste the mark he'd left, I felt a rush of possessiveness wash over me. In that moment, I allowed my instincts to take over.

Without thinking, I leaned in closer, my heart racing as I pressed my lips to his warm skin, searching for my own spot to leave a mark. I felt daring and alive, the world around us fading into a blurry backdrop as I explored him with soft, lingering kisses. He responded with a low, appreciative rumble that resonated through me, urging me on.

With each gentle kiss, I felt our connection deepening like an unspoken promise shared just between us. The intimacy was so exciting, more profound than anything I had known before. When our lips met again, there was an urgency fuelled by the undeniable chemistry we shared. In that moment, everything else faded away; it was just him and me, completely wrapped up in each other, caught in a whirlwind of feelings and electricity.

With our mate marks on show, the anticipation surged as we approached the towering double doors of the ballroom. My heart raced with my thoughts, excitement bubbling alongside nerves. The sounds of laughter and gentle music filtered through, creating an atmosphere thick with vibrancy.

I looked up at Noah, who stood by my side with an aura of confidence. His presence felt like a rock anchoring me in the sea of uncertainty. Catching my gaze, he flashed a reassuring smile. "Remember, no matter what happens inside, you are the Luna Queen. You are more powerful than you realize."

His words echoed in my mind, giving me courage. I nodded, a smile blooming on my face, and as the grand doors swung open.
