I chuckled. "You expected anything less?"

He turned his head to look at me, an amused glint in his eye. "No. Not at all."

Silence settled between us for a moment. Then, he smirked.

"So... how'd you sleep, Moonvale?"

I quickly looked away, suddenly embarrassed. I had no clue what I had said or done the night before, and knowing myself... it probably wasn't good.

"I slept fine," I muttered, staring at the wall. "But Mattheo... about last night."

He arched a brow.

I hesitated. "Did I... say or do anything stupid?"

Mattheo let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "You were a fucking mess. You really are a lightweight, V."

I groaned. "Shit."

"And," he continued, smirking now, "you were basically begging me to fuck you."

My entire body froze.

"What?" My voice came out in a whisper. My eyes widened.

Mattheo laughed, clearly enjoying my horror.

"Oh my god," I breathed, my hands flying to my face. "I'm so sorry."

"But," he said, voice shifting slightly, "we didn't do anything."

I lowered my hands, peering at him through my fingers. "Wait... really?"

He raised an eyebrow. "You seriously thought I would do anything while you were drunk?"

I opened my mouth, then immediately closed it. "I—No! I didn't mean it like that, I just—"

Mattheo chuckled, shaking his head. "Relax, Moonvale. I'm fucking with you."

I exhaled.

"But no," he continued. "We didn't do anything. Besides kissing, but I think you remember that."

I smiled, thinking back to last night. "Yeah, I do. Shame George fucking caught us."

Mattheo groaned. "We have got to find better places to make out."

Before I could respond, the door swung open.

Theo walked in, tossing a bag onto the floor as if he hadn't even noticed that I was still in the room.

"Morning," he said casually, stretching.

Mattheo sat up. "Yo."

"Uh—good morning?" I said slowly, frowning. "You're... not surprised I'm here?"

Theo barely glanced at me. "Not really." He shrugged. "Figured you'd be crashing here, so I stayed with Blaise and Draco."

I blinked. "That... doesn't seem weird to you?"

Theo finally turned to look at me, confused. "What's weird?"

I gestured between Mattheo and myself. "Me. Spending the night here?"

Theo just shrugged again. "Not really? I mean, I'm used to Mattheo bringing girls over on weekends."

I froze.

For a second, I swore my heart stopped beating.

Mattheo snapped his head toward Theo, shooting him a look, but I had already turned away.

My chest felt tight.

I knew what Mattheo was like. I knew his reputation. But hearing Theo say it so casually—like it was nothing, like I was just another name on a list—made something twist inside me.
