Accompany them to the museum?
Did I hear correctly?
I glanced at the wrist where Jungwon was holding and then I lifted my gaze up to look at Jay. He was so close to me. In real!!! The man - Park Jay whom I call my ideal type was standing just a few inches away. I looked down to calculate the distance between our shoes...umm...a small scale distance...no wait...a little less than the big scale. Yes, he was real and standing there, asking me to accompany them to the museum.
"Anvi?"
I quickly looked up when Jungwon called my name.
He was holding my hand and calling my name!!!
"Would you like to come with us?"
I tried to smile. I repeat - I tried. In fact, my smile was awkward.
I started, "I have to meet my friends at the cafe." Glancing around to them, I could feel the grip on my wrist tightened a bit but when I looked at the one holding me, he smiled. The first time, he smiled at me and honestly, I fell in love with that dimple smile even more. It's more cute up so close. "You guys, go ahead. Enjoy the city. The more you explore, the more beautiful it'll become."
Jay glanced at Jungwon and then towards Heeseung before turning towards me, "Actually, we can't leave a fan who met us like this. It's so rude not to acknowledge her properly. After all, the fans from this country don't get the privilege to see us up close neither in fan meets nor in concerts."
I blinked at him, my thoughts spinning. "Oh no, it's not like that. I really appreciate meeting you all. It's just... I don't want to intrude or make you uncomfortable. You must have plans already."
Heeseung repeated the name to himself. A sudden wave of Deja-vu he felt. As if...it's like...never mind...he looked at her.
Heeseung tilted his head slightly, his gaze intense but strangely inviting. "Anvi, don't think of it like that. If anything, it's the opposite. You've been so polite and careful with us. You didn't scream, ask for pictures, or freak out like most fans would. That's rare. Don't you think this is a special encounter for both sides?"
I swallowed. My heart was racing. Was this real? Was Heeseung implying that they wanted me to stay? My bias Lee Heeseung asking me to stay!!! He is talking to me!!! If only I could see him more clearly. I shook my head slightly, reminding myself to stay logical. "I just don't want to seem like... you know... one of those obsessive fans. I respect you all a lot."
Jay let out a soft chuckle, his arms crossing as he leaned slightly towards me to match my eye level. "That's exactly why we want you to come. If you were obsessive, we'd be running away, not inviting you to a museum."
A nervous laugh bubbled out of me, but I quickly covered it with a cough. My brain was short-circuiting. Why are you laughing, Anvi? They might think of you as a psycho.
Also, My fangirl heart was screaming at me to accept. This was a once-in-a-lifetime chance. But my rational side was holding me back, reminding me of boundaries, of reality.
Heeseung sighed dramatically, shaking his head. "You know, I didn't expect rejecting our invitation would be so easy for you. I guess we're not that special after all."
I snapped my head up, my eyes widening. "Wait, that's not—"
Jay clicked his tongue, smirking. "She's probably too busy for us, hyung. We should respect her priorities."
A new wave of panic rushed through me. That wasn't what I meant at all! I wasn't rejecting them—I was trying to be considerate!
Sunghoon, who had been silent all this time, finally spoke in broken English, his voice softer than expected. "Think of it this way. You were on your way somewhere, we were on our way somewhere. Fate made us meet. Maybe this is meant to happen."
