—————–Why did he have to be a miraculous holder this time?
For as long as she can remember, she was the one saving the day—and once, the cause of mayhem but that was erased on history. She made sure of that.
All that she wished was to live peacefully with her husband once more, like any pervious life of his. Of course, there are times that she's in a position where destiny didn't make it possible for them to be together but she has her ways of guarding him from afar.
What true love does to somebody.
It's painful, to say the least. Looking at the fragments of your husband's soul in a different body, with no memory of what happened in the past.
Perhaps, that's the consequences one will have to face to gain such power in their hands. Alas, she didn't want to harbour such magic. Not at all.
A sigh escapes her lips, a single touch from him wearing that miraculous was a threat to her safety. The him today was riskier than anything she ever faced.
She was gambling.
Her knuckles made contact with the wooden door, it was made difficult to conceal the glow of her chest as she stepped closer to the current guardian of the miraculous.
The door opened, revealing a short man with a hideous shirt from hawaii, probably. He wasn't surprised by her sudden visit, but was alarmed by the furrow of her brows and disapproval on her face.
"Fu."
_____
"What were you thinking giving him that?"
She nagged, frustration wrapped around her voice. Her eyes held that of a raw emotion, a sadness dancing across the (eye colour) flames of her irises. This was the first in centuries she visited a guardian of the miraculouses, and her chest heaved the brighest of glow it can produce in a long while.
"He was the chosen, capable of holding the miraculous of the black cat. I assure you, he will be fine."
"Chosen!? How was he chosen, Fu!?"
She bit back.
"Miss, please don't disrespect the master like that!"
Wayzz hushed down, going near the woman with a disapproving tone and an angry shape of his eyes.
"Guardian, may I ask why are you so pressed about cat noir's identity?"
The old man asked, his demeanor the opposite of the immortal being. He remained calm and collected, sounding far wiser than her at this moment.
"He's destined for me, Fu! It's been a century since his last reincarnation, and that life was bitter for the both of us,"
She sounded desperate, almost begging the man to return the cat to him and give it to another.
"Now you've destroyed another chance of my only source of contentment in this world..!"
She clenched her jaw, hand going towards the stone carved to her chest. She was playing with fire, surrounded by a number of miraculouses and another kwami freed.
"I'm sorry to hear that, guardian. But there is nothing I can do, Adrien Agreste is chosen to become cat noir and if I do abide with your request, the balance he has with ladybug will be destroyed."
A frustrated sigh left her lips, wiping the tears that burned her eyes and take a shaky breath.
"Fine,"
A raise of her hand left the man in a fighting stance, his kwami flying beside him—awaiting his words to transform. Despite knowing her being the guardian of the holders, she was still unknown to them and the little information they have about her made the woman a threat to the miraculous.
Murmurs of distinct language echoed through the walls of Master Fu's home, his kwami quickly flying towards the girl to stop her enchantment.
"Guardian, don't!"
She was erasing herself.
Alas, "time control." He froze, a few inches away from where she stood. The stone on her chest shined, the light travelling from the center towards her fingertips and entirety of her being. Scythe now on her hands, its size twice as big as her.
Having the book that guided and taught more about the miraculous and possibly the mechanics of the universe has helped her alter her own existence.
A breath, and then fits of coughing followed. The stone that's on the centre dimmed, flicking on and off entirely—a massive impact on her overall health.
"Wasted my time confronting this stupid Guardian."
Was what she whispered, now travelling towards where she remembered cat noir fought with the new villain. She was transformed already, why not help out a hero in need?
There was a single hope that Fu would hear her yearning heart, that he'd take back Adrien's miraculous. She was dancing with fire every time she's with the blond, and constantly risking her life was not an option she's willing to sacrifice.
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
She was a fool to believe that he will retrieve it in the first place, perhaps she was driven by emotions and yearning to be with him this time around.
After all, she was just a girl beneath it all, looking for her husband's soul residing in the hollows of a human body.
