Who knew parenting was so hard!
To explain further, here I was sitting on the floor with at least 4 different medicines in my lap, looking through my phone as fast as possible.Currently my kid turned friend is laying on the couch with a 38 degree (102) fever, breathing like he'd just ran a marathon. How was I supposed to know it was going to start raining cats and dogs, I didn't even think about it raining considering it was sunny with hardly no clouds in the sky. Shame on me I guess, I shifted the cloth on his head.
I know he has a bad immune system as an adult so that explains why he got sick so easily.
Considering we're on day 2 of child Lu guang I'm wondering if this is a common problem or not and if I should tell someone. I hate this whole parent thing!Usually Lu guang was the one making the difficult decisions, and now that the roles have reversed I'm starting to kind of sympathizing which why Lu guang is always sleeping and sunbathing.
"Xiao Xiao?" I felt a warm hand on my shirt, I looked over to see teary eyed Lu guang staring straight into my soul.
"Feeling any better Lu Lu?" Ne nodded and shifted to sit up, I closed my phone and grabbed the towel that fell from his head in his struggle to get up. "I made some soup earlier, I'll go get it so you stay here okie dokie."he nodded again and started lazily playing with the blanket.I walked into the kitchen and grabbed the metallic pot with broth soup inside. Maybe I could go buy some milk tea or boba for us once he's better. I pored the soup into a small bowl and grabbed one of the small spoons that were hidden in the depths of the drawers.
"Hey Lu Lu, sorry I didn't know what kind of soup you usually eat when you're sick so i just made some classic broth and noodles soup."he accepted the bowl with shaking hands replying. "T-Thank you mister cheng."
I sat on the free space on the couch opening my phone to check all my missed calls and messages. To say landlady was mad I missed her calls and messages was an understatement, she texted me 15 times and sent 3 voicemails.
I hit the call button pulling the phone away from my ear the moment she picked up, and rightfully so, if I had actually had the phone next to my ear she would have had busted my ear drum. "You idiot, you scared the heck out of me, I thought you were both dead or something. And tell Lu to start picking up his dang phone, I swear you're becoming a bad influence on him!" I turned the volume down and walked out of the room so he could hear what she was saying.
"Listen I'm sorry I didn't pick up the phone, I ran into a couple problems and Lu guang is sick at the moment so I took away his phone for now." I heard a huff on the other side of the line, she must be outside because I could faintly hear the crickets chirping.
"Okay, fine you're off the hook for now, just take care of each other okay." "Okay, we will." I hear a beep from the other line indicating she hung up. Walking back into the sun room, I found Lu guang had put the bowl on the table and was now half asleep on the couch.
I grabbed the bowl and brought it back into the kitchen, I wonder if this is like how a normal day as a parent goes, if so I don't think is going too bad.If I only knew
