*Havens POV*
Well I can safely say school in New Orleans is much different than in St Augustine.
Pulling up to this place it looks like a damn castle.
"I promise, it's not nearly as fancy as it looks." Brayden gave me a small smile.
"You sure?" I raised my eyebrows. "Because it LOOKS like I should be wearing a ball gown." I laughed.
"Oh as if you wear dresses Hav." He laughed and got out of my car. "Trust me, everything will be fine." He smiled as I got out.
"Oh what's wrong." Calvin jumped out of his truck and closed my car door for me.
"Oh, just feeling extremely out of place." I nodded.
"Now Hav, don't take this the wrong way, but I would be extremely disappointed if you didn't feel out of place." He threw his arm over me and started walking me toward the school.
"Oh wow. Ow." I rolled my eyes.
"It's not a bad thing Haven." He shook his head. "You wouldn't be you if you didn't stand out. It's one the things I love about you the most. That you are who you are, and you make no apologies for being exactly that. You." He nodded. "Don't walk in here and try to fit in, because if we're being fair, St Augustine could use little bit of that Haven Sawyer fire. Light this bitch up babe." He smiled.
"And besides, Calvins going to end up pranking you to make you feel right at home." Brayden nodded.
"That is also a fact." He pointed at Brayden. "Look, you've got the two of us to fall back on if today doesn't go ok. But I think everything will be fine."
"How can you be so sure." I raised my eyebrows.
"Because you're hot and funny." He nodded. "And because I'm me, and once people find out you're my step sister you're pretty much in the safe zone." He laughed and opened the door for me.
"That is until I meet you twos friends." I nodded.
"Eee." Brayden scrunched his face.
"You're bound to meet them anyway, I fully intend on having a little fun with it." Calvin leaned down and kissed the top of my head. "This is the office, your locker is going to be up the stairs and directly down the hall, and I will meet you there since I'm running to Ricky's and it's in the same hall. Call one of us if you need anything, alright?"
"Yes dad." I laughed.
"I did promise your dad I would take care of you, so I'll take it. Love you!" He yelled as he made his way down the hall.
"Love you Hav. Seriously, just call." Brayden kissed my cheek and went the other way.
"Love you too." I yelled.
No, am I by no means nervous.
But I've learned over visits that I am not a typical St Augustine girl.
I'm tattooed before 20. I don't hide things from my parents. I don't sit and listen when men are speaking. When someone plays with fire, I whip out a flame thrower. And according to Calvin, St Augustine can use a little bit of my fire.
I met with my guidance counselor who felt the need to make it known that if I have feelings about my moms new marriage I can come to him with those issues. I got my schedule, which English Lit? About to be my favorite.
And I finally headed to my locker.
I was there for about 5 minutes when some guy leaned against the locker beside me. "Hello gorgeous."
