Fuutarou looked at Nino, who was pouting. She had been pouting since they left. "Um... thank you, Nino."
She huffed and turned away from him.
"Hey, (Y/N), how come you're going with them? Couldn't you just take the bus?"
"I could, but isn't it more fun with people that are close to you?" He lowered his voice, "And also, you guys are my only friends." He laughed with a tinge of sadness.
The seven sat in silence until the driver turned on the radio and switched to some station.
" —Now, it's time for traffic. The traffic on [road] is pretty heavy right now due to a snowstorm. Good luck to anyone travelling on it, you're not gonna get anywhere. As for weather, this snowstorm is scheduled to last until the end of the night—"
The driver forcefully shut off the radio and sighed.
(Y/N) understood why he sighed. "Wait... that's this road?"
The driver nodded. "Unfortunately."
Fuutarou also sighed. "Well, then... good thing I brought my flash cards!" He reached into his bag and took out a stack of flash cards.
From the front seat, Nino reached behind her and pretended to yank the stack from Fuutarou's hands and toss it out the window.
Fuutarou held the cards close to his chest. "Don't touch my flash cards!"
(Y/N) put his hand on Fuutarou's shoulder. "Not right now, bro. Not right now."
Once again, silence filled the limo. They reached the traffic after not too long.
(Y/N) decided to break the silence. But his icebreaker was pretty lame.
"So... that's some nice weather we're having, eh?"
- = + = -
"—Twenty-one o'clock, minus five degrees. Weather update: snowstorm still scheduled for the rest of the night, but it will be warmer and sunny tomorrow. Now onto traffic: [road] is still majorly backed up due to the heavy snowstorm. Sorry for anyone stuck in that. On highw—"
(Y/N) tapped something on his phone. "Hey, Mr. Driver! Th—"
"Ebata, please."
(Y/N) cleared his throat. "Sorry. Ebata-san, there's an inn just up ahead. I think we should call it there for today." He showed Ebata the inn on his phone's map.
"Good idea. We'll be there shortly."
After only a few minutes, they arrived. They exited the limo and went to the check-in desk.
(Y/N) wanted to pay for the room, and even through the Quints' objections, he made his way to the desk.
"Good evening. Do you have a room for seven, by chance?"
The worker tapped a few times on the screen in front of him. "Um... not right now, unfortunately. However, we're one room from fully booked, so you're free to take that room and try to fit yourselves accordingly."
"I'll take it!"

"(L/N), did you have to buy this room?"
"It's either this or the limo, I'm afraid."
"I'd take sleeping in the limo over being in the same room as Uesugi any day."
The seven walked to the room while (Y/N) and Nino bickered. The room was, luckily, spacious enough for...
...six sleeping bags.
