The Forgotten Gem

CHAPTER 14: CATCH AND RELEASE

Peridot: This was it......this was my last shot. I'm gonna die here! Nooooooo!

Steven: Hey, come on. Earth isn't that bad.

He said, trying to sooth the despair filled Dorito head as Peridot interrupted him in a panic.

Peridot: It doesn't matter what Earth is like! It's not gonna be like anything soon!

Steven(confused): What do you mean?

But before she could even answer, a warp pad behind them activated as the Crystal Gems appeared to Steven's rescue, making Peridot groan as she ran away from Steven.

Basalt: Hey, look! There's Steven.

Steven: Guys!

Pearl ran up to Steven along with the other's and hugged him, having been worried sick about the hybrid child.

Pearl(worried): What happened!?

Garnet looked at Peridot as she growled at the green Gem, clearly furious that she kidnapped Steven.

Garnet: Peridot!

Peridot: Why can't you just leave me alone!?

Garnet summoned her gauntlets as she ordered the Gems to attack, causing Peridot to become even more frustrated as she shot her energy blasts at them.

But the Crystal Gems managed to dodge each attack as Peridot then tried to fly away again by using her helicopter hand, but got caught by Amethyst using her whip.

Peridot began creating electricity again to make Amethyst drop the whip like last time, but they were prepared for that as Garnet grabbed the whip, stopping the electric current by absorbing it.

Garnet: Not this time!

She sended the electricity back at Peridot, shocking her before slamming her to the ground with Amethyst's whip.

Peridot coughed, reiling from the impact but still managed to stand back up and started backing up when she noticed Pearl and Garnet approaching her.

Peridot: Wait, wait! You.....need me!

She started panicking and aiming her blaster at Garnet, not seeing Pearl sneaking up behind her.

Peridot: I'm the only one that knows about the-

She sees Pearl and tries to fire at her, taking her eyes away from Garnet, who grabs Peridot by the torso and squeezes her til she poofed, leaving behind her limbs that fell to the floor.

Pearl: What on Earth!?

The rest of the gang gathered around the pile of limbs to see what had happened.

Amethyst(disgusted): Ugh, sick! There's bits of her all over.

Garnet: Nope, she's right here.

She said, showing them that Peridot's gemstone was in her hand before bubbling it and sending it away.

Garnet: And now she's in the temple.

Pearl picked one of the fake limbs up to inspect it closer, not recognizing the tech at all as it was completely new to her.

Pearl: So these weren't actually part of her body?
