CHAPTER 14: CATCH AND RELEASE

Amethyst took the piece out of Pearl's hand along with the rest of the pieces and dropped them all into the ocean as Basalt watched on.

Basalt: I feel like that was a very bad decision......

Steven looked at Garnet with a worried look on his face, clearly scared from what Peridot was talking about.

Steven: Garnet, she was trying to tell us something.

Garnet: Those were just the desperate lies of a Gem who's been caught. You don't need to worry about her anymore.

She said while walking back to the warp pad as Pearl followed Garnet's lead, pushing Steven along.

Pearl: Come on, Steven. Oh, I'm so glad this is finally over.

Back at the Beach House, Steven was sitting on his bed as he was holding Peridot's foot, looking at it with a concerned expression.

A hand lightly slapped his face as it was Amethyst, making a Peridot impression to mess with Steven.

Amethyst: I'm back to kidnap you! .......What? It's been long enough that we can joke about it, right?

Steven: It's only been an hour.

Amethyst then noticed Steven holding Peridot's foot as she was kinda weirded out about that.

Amethyst: Ew, what are you doing with her foot?

Steven: Think it's lucky?

Amethyst: Ha! Not for Peridot. Glad to have you back.

She gave Steven a quick hug while chuckling before walking off, but stopped when Steven said.

Steven: Um, Amethyst?

Amethyst: Yeah?

Steven: Do you think......no, it's okay. Nevermind.

He stopped himself as Amethyst was just chuckling at Steven's weird behavior.

Amethyst: Okay, weirdo. If you need anything, I will be in my room eating garbage.

Amethyst went to her room as Steven flopped backwards on his bed, thinking about what Peridot said as he looked at her foot.

Steven: Why were you so scared? What were you gonna say? Now you're deep in the Temple, in a bubble and we'll never know. If I could just talk to you for one more second......

After saying that, Steven's gem suddenly started glowing as the Temple door opened up to Rose's old room.

Steven quickly ran inside the pink cloud filled room as he told it to help him with figuring out what Peridot was trying to say.

Steven: Room, I need to talk to Peridot!

The room obeyed Steven's command and created an exact duplicate of Peridot out of the clouds as the cloud Peridot began talking.

Peridot: I'm the only one who knows about the-

It froze, cutting itself off as the room didn't know what Peridot was gonna say either, much to Steven's frustrations.
