Third point of view

It was early morning when you stepped out of the shower, towel in hand as you rubbed your damp hair dry. The cool air hit your skin, sending a slight shiver down your spine. As you ran the towel through your hair, your ears caught the faint sound of movement outside your bedroom door.

Shaking your head, you tossed the towel into the laundry basket before stepping out into the hallway.

The scent of freshly cooked food wafted through the air as you made your way toward the living room. The soft murmur of the television caught your attention, and sure enough, Sun-hee was sitting on the couch, watching the news.

Rolling your eyes, you continued toward the dining table, where a spread of warm dishes awaited. Without hesitation, you pulled out a chair and slid into it, grabbing your chopsticks to start eating.

The sound of your movement must have caught Sun-hee's attention because, in the next moment, she turned her head, eyes landing on you. Within seconds, she was marching up to your spot, leaning against the back of the chair beside you.

You didn't have to look up to know she was watching you eat,

"..How's the food?"

You paused, chopsticks mid-air, before glancing up at her.

"You made this?"

She let out a laugh, shaking her head. "No, the chef cooked it for you. I'm just asking."

You nodded slowly, eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion before returning to your food. She wasn't asking for no reason, there was something on her mind.

"It's good."

And you were right.

"Y/n," She started, her voice quieter this time. "Do you really have to go?"

A sigh left your lips as you set your chopsticks down. "You can't stop me from going." You said, leaning back against the chair. "It's the fourth raid, Sun-hee. The ants are mutating at a rate we can barely keep up with. If I don't go, maybe it'll turn into another failed raid." Your voice grew firmer. "Many are going to die if we fail again."

She bit her lip, her fingers gripping the back of the chair as she lowered her gaze. "I know that, but..." She hesitated.

Your brows furrowed. "But what?"

"It's not in your control yet."

Your body stiffened, the weight of her words pressing down on you.

"The last time you let it slip out, you almost destroyed a city." She continued, her voice laced with worry. "What if this time... you can't take that control back?"

Your jaw clenched. "I don't want to talk about it." You muttered.

She didn't back down. Instead, she pulled out the chair, sitting on it, staring at you with a concerned look.

"I have no doubt in your abilities, Y/n." She said softly. "But I still get scared for you. It still haunts you, doesn't it?"

You slammed your hands against the table. "I said I don't want to talk about it!!"

She flinched, her breath hitching as a wave of pressure filled the room. The air grew thick, heavy with the mana that had slipped out.  The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. Fear pricking at her skin.

And then, you saw it.

The look in her eyes.

Immediately, you closed your eyes, forcing the mana back into submission. The air lightened once more, the suffocating weight disappearing.
