The soft hum of the morning filled the Jung family kitchen.

The table was set with fresh toast, eggs, and a steaming pot of coffee, but the warmth in the air didn’t quite reach Yn’s heart.

She sat between her parents, poking at her food with her fork, unaware that her world was about to shift.

Mr. Jung: Yn… there’s something we need to talk to you about.

Yn: What is it?

Mr. Jung: We’re moving to South Korea. There’s a business expansion I need to personally oversee. We’ll be leaving the day after tomorrow.

The silence that followed was deafening.

Yn: What…? No. No, I’m not going.

Mrs. Jung: You’ll continue your studies there, sweetheart. It’s a beautiful country, and it’s not forever.

Yn: I said I’m not going! Everything I love is here. My friends, my college… Jackson.
(pushing her chair back harshly)

Yn: i'm going to class.

She stormed out, grabbing her bag, and left without another glance. The door slammed shut behind her.

Mr. Jung exhaled, rubbing his forehead.

Mrs. Jung stared at the untouched coffee in front of her, her lips trembling just slightly.

They both knew — they had broken their daughter’s heart before the move had even begun.

College Campus – Later That Morning

Yn rushed across campus, her emotions all tangled inside her chest.

She spotted him near the lockers — Jackson, her boyfriend, leaning casually as always, that charming smirk tugging at his lips.
Jackson: Hey, trouble. You okay? You look like someone just died.

walking straight into him, voice breaking

Yn: I need to talk to you…

He straightened, sensing the weight in her voice.

Yn: I’m leaving. My dad’s been assigned to South Korea… for business. They want me to transfer and study there.

Jackson blinked, but only for a second. His expression barely shifted.

Jackson: Damn… that’s sudden.

Grabbing his hand tightly

Yn: I don’t want to go. I love you, Jackson. I can’t leave you.

Jackson: Then don’t go. We’ll figure it out, oka?

But deep inside, Jackson was… okay with her leaving.

Yn had never let him touch her — never let things go beyond kisses and careful touches.

And while she gave him her heart, he had been giving his body to other girls, chasing physical comfort in all the places she wouldn’t allow.

He didn’t love her. Not the way she loved him. But he couldn’t bring himself to say it — not when she looked at him like he was her entire life

Yn (tearfully): You promise?

Jackson (forcing a half-smile):
Yeah… I promise.

After School

Yn walked in without a word. She didn’t touch the dinner her mother had made.

Her eyes didn’t meet her father’s. Without a single sound, she walked upstairs, closed the door, and locked it behind her.
She didn’t cry.

She just stood there, staring at her suitcase by the closet… wondering if it was too late to stop the world from moving.
