"MY BABIES!" My mom practically shrieks as she exits the car.
Brooke and I groan when she wraps us into the tightest hug ever.
"Hi, Mom." I chuckle as she kisses my cheek.
"You look so handsome, baby." She pinches my cheek like I'm seven again.
"DADDY!" Brooke runs over to my Dad, tackling him in a hug.
She's a major daddy's girl if it wasn't obvious enough.
"My princess." He hugs her and spins her like she's a baby again.
Tonight is Blackthorn's annual charity gala.
Some of the most prestigious families and their children are invited to attend.
My parents included.
Which unfortunately means I have to go as well.
I hate dressing up.
Me and suits just don't get along...but my mother threatened to beat me in front of everyone if I didn't.
And unfortunately, she's the type to follow through with her threats so...
Here I am!
On the bright side, I get to force a certain pink-headed girl to be my date.
"Xavier...your coach called me." Dad sighs as he approaches me.
"Whatever it is, I didn't do it!" I blurt.
"He said you've been doing really well, calm down." He chuckles.
"Oh...well in that case I DID do it."
"What are you not telling me?" He asks with a raised brow and I smile.
"Nothing."
"Xavier-"
"Chill Dad! I've been a very well-behaved boy since school started."
"Bullshit! His Halloween party got raided by cops." Brooke smirks and I glare at her.
"Xavier! What if you got arrested!" My Mom scolds.
"But I didn't, so we're all good."
She continues glaring at me while shaking her head.
"How about you Brooke, how have you been?" My Dad asks.
"I'm fine." She shrugs.
"Are you sure? You seem a little upset." Mom adds.
"I'm fine...what did I tell you guys about asking too much?" She sighs.
"Sweetheart, we don't want another incident-"
"That won't happen just please...stop bringing it up." She groans.
Brooke's health condition is a very sensitive topic for her.
