Y/N adjusted his fingerless gloves for the sixth time that morning, nervously bouncing on his heels as he leaned against the wall of Sister Margaret’s School for Wayward Girls. The merc bar was noisy as ever—bar fights, beer pong with grenades, and one guy trying to arm-wrestle a raccoon for cash.
He wasn’t paying attention to any of it.
Because he was here.
Cable.
The brooding, time-traveling soldier with a mechanical arm that could probably crush a tank and a face carved like it was sculpted with anger and loss. Y/N sighed dreamily as Cable walked across the bar, boots thudding against the floor with deadly purpose.
Y/N grinned like an idiot. “God, I wanna climb him like a jungle gym.”
Deadpool, who had been eavesdropping (as usual), leaned in and whispered, “Y’know, I’ve done dumber things. Like fight Wolverine in a Speedo. But confessing your love to Robo-Daddy over there might take the cake.”
Y/N groaned. “I can’t confess. I’m just the dumb one in this operation. I once tried to put a silencer on a hammer. I’m not exactly smooth.”
“That’s why you have me,” Deadpool said, throwing an arm around him. “Now listen: the secret to flirting is confidence. Eye contact. And innuendos so filthy they make priests cry.”
“I’m taking notes,” Y/N said, pulling out a mini notebook labeled “Operation: Seduce the Cyborg.”
“Start with a classic. Tell him his arm looks like it could do unspeakable things. Sexy things. You’ll get his attention.”
“Okay… I can do this.”
Two hours later, Cable sat at a booth, cleaning one of his oversized rifles, when Y/N approached like a man on a mission.
“Hey there, Tin Man,” Y/N began, sliding into the seat opposite him. “Is that a BFG-3000, or are you just happy to see me?”
Cable didn’t even glance up. “It’s a plasma rifle.”
Undeterred, Y/N leaned in. “Bet your arm’s not the only thing that’s enhanced.”
Cable finally looked up, eyes steely and unimpressed. “Are you drunk?”
“No. High on life. And your jawline.”
Cable slowly set the rifle down and sighed. “Why are you talking to me?”
“Because I like danger. And muscles. And men with daddy issues. You check all the boxes.”
From across the bar, Deadpool gave a thumbs-up and mimed a booty smack.
Y/N grinned nervously. “You ever get lonely on those time jumps? Because I got a tight schedule and a tighter—”
“Finish that sentence,” Cable growled, “and I’ll put a bullet in your flirty mouth.”
Y/N held up his hands. “Hey, now. Consent is sexy.”
Cable stood up with slow, terrifying finality. “You’ve been poking me for days, and I’ve let it slide because Wade is somehow worse. But you don’t know what you’re asking for.”
“Oh,” Y/N smirked, “but I do. I want the full cable package. Broadband. High speed. No data limit.”
Cable grabbed him by the collar.
Y/N blinked. “This is either really good or really bad.”
Cable growled. “We’re going to find out.”
The slamming of the door echoed in the back room of Sister Margaret’s.
Y/N barely had time to say “oh wow” before Cable pinned him against the wall, metal arm pressed against his chest.
“You think flirting’s a game?” Cable rasped, breath hot against his ear. “You wanna play with fire?”
Y/N swallowed. “Yeah… if it’s your fire.”
Cable stared at him, something shifting in his eyes. Not anger. Not disgust. Something more primal.
“Then don’t blame me for what happens next.”
He didn’t.
Not when Cable kissed him like a storm breaking loose.
Not when the armor hit the floor, piece by piece.
Not when the air was thick with need and the scent of gun oil and sweat.
And definitely not when he was laid out on the bed, all stupid smiles and flushed skin, as Cable growled his name like a promise.
Later, in the afterglow, Y/N rested against Cable’s chest, playing with the strap of his harness.
“So… you like me?”
Cable grunted.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
Deadpool’s voice echoed from outside the door.
“Finally! Took you two enough time! I’ve been shipping this harder than Amazon Prime!”
Y/N laughed softly.
Cable groaned. “I’m going to kill him.”
“After a cuddle?”
“…Fine.”
