On Our Way To A Smile - Smile - Book 1

Three days later

I have nearly figured it out. Nearly. Not yet though. I found some information on how to control Matatabi's power as well, but I wanted to learn the jutsu of the stars first.

"Miyako! Were have you been all month!" I heard someone call. I looked behind me, hiding the book inside my backpack quickly. It was Sakura.

"Oh. Hi Sakura. I've been training. You know, I'm supposed to go against the Gaara kid. And if Lee couldn't beat him, well then, I'm probably screwed." I said. "What have you been up to?"

"I've been trying to find Sasuke. He's been missing all month." Sakura said. I raised an eyebrow.

"He's probably just training with someone." I said. "You shouldn't worry about it. Why not accept some missions while you have time?" I asked. I couldn't understand why Sakura would waste so much time looking for a boy. I mean, he is our teammate, but It's somewhat obvious that he's training.

"Oh, alright. See you later then." Sakura said, and left. I began thinking. I hadn't even interacted with anybody for a month, except when I was in the hospital for using to much chakra. Maybe I should actually talk to someone at some point. I shrugged the though away, and took the book from my backpack again.

The sun was setting, so now would be a good time to practice the jutsu. The different hand signs. They called them different things. Aries. Taurus. Gemini. Cancer. Leo. Virgo. Libra. Scorpio. Sagittarius. Capricorn. Aquarius. Pices.

Star signs. I had heard of them before, although I never bothered learning which one I corresponded with. Each hand sign was pretty easy to figure out with practice though.

To summon the constellation, Ursa Minor, I had to use the hand signs of Gemini, Cancer, and Leo. Which was going to be easy enough.

So I attempted it.

And Ursa Minor was summoned.

"...Hello." The constellation said. I just looked at it, somewhat surprised that I managed to summon it first try. "Huh. It's been about 50 years before someone last summoned me. What's your name?"

"Miyako Yuki." I said cautiously, as I approached it. "How summoned you last?"

"A girl named Akari Yamanaka. She was quite skilled." Ursa Minor said wistfully, as if remembering the girl fondly. "So. You found the book she hid."

"Yeah..." I said. "I found it in the library." I said.

"Huh. Didn't think I'd be brought back by someone like you." Ursa Minor said, the star bear turning around.

"What do you do?" I asked. The bear looked directly at me.

"I fight for you. You summon me, and I fight." Ursa Minor said.

"Oh. So if I summon you in the Chunin exams, is that alright?" I asked. The bear nodded.

"Since this is your first time, I don't expect much. You know, you look like Aika, and seem a lot like her." Ursa Minor said. "Maybe it's just me."

"Thank you." I said, a small smile on my face. I had successfully summoned something. And I could use it to fight against Gaara.

Day before the Exam

I heard Naruto was in the hospital from using up to much chakra when training, so I though I would go see him. Shikamaru was planning to go see Choji, since he was in the hospital because of indigestion, so we went together. We were in the hospital right now, and visiting Naruto, and then I'd go visit Lee, and Shikamaru would go visit Choji.
