"Good grief, I would rather spend my new year's quietly at home." Saiki watched as his parents continued to flirt with each other.

"I hope I can have another happy year with my beloved wife." Kuniharu said, clasping his hands together.

"What? Why are you making that wish to me?" Her mother waved a hand.

"What are you talking about? It's because you're my goddess." Kuniharu said, pointing at his wife as he charmed her.

"Oh my, dear!" Kurumi said, bashfully.

"This is not how I want to start my new year." Saiki said.

Saiki then throw some offering and made a wish.

"Whatever. I suppose I should make a wish, too. I hope we can have a quiet New year's this time... Okay, now I can go home..."

"What? Saiki!" And Kaidou appeared.

"Heh, Nendou?" You said, as you bump into him while walking towards the shrine.

"Ah, pall [last name]. Nice to see you here." He said. "Where are you going? Wanna go grab ramen?"

"Ah, I'm not on the mood for ramen right now. But do you wanna come at the shrine?" You offered.

"Sure, why though?"

"It's because it's new year. Just come with me." You said, walking next to him.

"Oh look! It's our pal's mom and dad."

"Are? Kusuo?" You said, approaching them.

'Could this be... Are they the people who will be worthy of my adversary?' Hairo thought as he looked at you both Nendou.

"Nendou, [last name], do you play tennis or anything?" Hairo asked.

"I can play volleyball! Hey! Hey! Hey!" You said, racing a hand, mimicking spiking a ball.

"Well, I have never played those games before, but I bet I'm good." Nendou says to Hairo.

'Everyone seems to be getting their wishes granted. I'm sure it's just a coincidence because my wish hasn't been granted at all.'

"By the way, Nendou, [name], have you two prayed at the shrine yet?" Hairo asked.

"Oh, you mean the thing where you ring the bell?"

"Yep, we haven't yet. I was just about to though. Come on Nendou." You said, beforw walking besides Nendou.

"All right, I guess I'll go do it now."

Just as you made a wish on the shrine and gave your offering, you moved so Nendou can have his turn. Which he only ring the bell, maybe cause he doesn't know how to.

"What kind of ritual was that?"

"Here Nendou, let me show you how to do it." You offered as you showed him before wishing: "I wish that something unexpected happen. Something I will not see it coming."

Saiki tense up hearing that before he saw that grin on your face, already not liking what your plan is.

With that, Mr kuniharu stepped in and made another wish.
