"Zaara, stop testing my patience, wapas karo mujhe apna laptop", he asked for the fifth time.
"Aapki engagement ki shopping shuru bhi nahi hui hai, ek hi hafte bachi hai engagement ke liye, sab isi laptop ki wajah se. Bhai isse zara almirah mein lock karke aayiye", Zaara gave the laptop to Veer, while Viren was still looking at her in disbelief especially at the audacity she had.
"Zindagi mein pehli baar kuch sahi kaha hai tune", Veer appreciated her while rushing out of the room with his bhaiya's laptop, before he could chase for it.
"Zaara zara idhar aana", Viren called her, dangerously and adjusting his full sleeve of the round neck t-shirt he was wearing, way out of his formal dressing. He was forced into work from home by his siblings, especially on weekends.
"Nahiii, aap maarenge", she backed out, trying to escape, only to find she was on the other side of the room, away from the exit, she would have to cross her bhaiya to leave the room.
"Tere Bhai ki tarah thodi hoon, aaja, nahi maarunga", Viren smirked, was she forgetting that he is her eldest. Having no choice, she moved forward planning to escape past him, without getting caught but was too slow for his reflex, he caught her like a kitten, grabbing the back of her t-shirt collar, dragging her back to exactly where he was.
"Your Mobile", he asked extending his hands.
"Hamesha usike peeche kyu pade ho aap, ab toh bhabhi ji aa gaye na, unke peeche bhi jayiye", she whined and then teased only to get her ears twisted.
"Zyada zubaan nahi chal rahi hai aaj kal? Computer Programming ka assignment ho gaya? Kal raat notebook uthake mat aana, help ke liye", he asked further tugging her ears hard.
"Oww.. Haan Haan kar diya maine kal hi, Zulm mat karein aap, Bhabhi ko bata dungi", she responded while struggling under the sharp pain radiating from her ears.
"Acha? I am sure you will love washing my car now. And try threatening me with your Bhabhi card once again and see how your mobile disappears from your pocket for at least a month", he threatened her, while letting go of her ears, she rubbed the cherry red ears, maybe she looked like a perfect baffoon with red ears, she thought. How bad will she look in the engagement photos?
"Bas kuch hi mahine ki baat hai, Shaadi hone dijiye, phir batati hoon, kaun kisse darta hai", she teased, escaping his hold, standing a feet away from him
"Hmm, dekhte hai", he said, his tone had lost its mischief.
"What's wrong Bhaiya? Kuch galat keh diya kya main. Sorry, voh bas mazaak kar-", she started rambling without even knowing if she said something she shouldn't have.
"Nahi Z, mujhse door nahi ho jaoge na Shaadi ke baad?", he asked, gulping down his fear and worry. He had been thinking about all the possible rifts that could occur if he gets married, did he decide too soon?
"Hain? Yaar bhaiya, main aur aapse door? Itni bhi aasan nahi hai mujhse chutkara paana. My non stop trouble contest will continue forever", she cheered him up, closing the distance between them and hugging. He could only smile and pat her head while wrapping his other hand embracing his kid.
Zaara's eyes teared up, a lot of emotions that were built together including the change of life, though she was very happy with it, she would have to share her bhaiya with one more person. It wasn't jealousy, but the fact that their dynamics will definitely change. She was growing up, just in less than two years, she wouldn't officially have a guardian, her bhaiya would no more be her everything. She had been overthinking, one nudge from her bhaiya and the tank broke down.
