Romancing With The Vampire [COMPLETED]

November 9th 2010 / 2 days later, Tuesday

Minas POV

My Bedroom

I woke to the soft rustle of sheets, golden morning light seeping through the bedroom curtains of the mansion. I blinked the sleep from my eyes, turning to see Tzuyu sitting upright, her phone glowing in her hands.

"What are you doing?", I mumbled, voice still heavy with sleep.

Tzuyu glanced over, smiling softly.

"Reading emails. Work never sleeps, even in a castle".

I leaned over and kissed her cheek, a lazy peck that lingered with affection, then stretched and rose from the bed, wrapping a blanket around my bare form.

"Where are you going?", she asked without looking up.

"To drink some blood", I replied matter-of-factly, walking barefoot toward the hallway.

~ A few minutes later ~

The Kitchen

 In the kitchen, I poured myself a glass of blood, and the crimson liquid still managed to look deceptively elegant in the glass. I stared at it, swirling it gently, lost in thought. Then I heard a ding-dong. The doorbell. Odd. Curious, I set the glass down and padded toward the front door, the blanket still clutched around me. 

The Front Door

I unlocked it and pulled it open. And froze. Him. The smirk on his face was twisted. Too familiar. Too haunting. The scent of him pulled every memory back like a rip current dragging me under.

"Sharon", he said, his voice like a knife wrapped in silk.

I stepped back instinctively, but his hand reached out fast and gripped my wrist.

"You're lucky. Becoming a vampire. I always knew you'd end up like this. Unkillable. Beautiful. Just like before".

The blanket slipped from my shoulders in my shock, and I reached to pull it up but he yanked my wrist again.

"Let go", I demanded, trembling.

But my voice my power felt small. He shook his head.

"I missed this view, Sharon".

Just then his head snapped sideways from a brutal punch, and I was yanked backward into strong arms.
