Reyansh
After a week of attack, I woke up early went to gym and had breakfast while I was going to work more on my new project but my family has other plans they told me to come home very early. I didn't bother to ask them why and went straight to the office. I am very disciplined man. I want seriousness and professionalism in my office, but my PA Miss.Reena doesn't get it. Reena is my father's friend's daughter. Since childhood she craved my attention thinking she has a chance. She doesn't like me,she likes my name-Rajvansh and did everything to earn it, always threw herself on me but I don't want that fake bitch anywhere near me. For now I will tolerate her until Papa does something about it.
Later I came with Veer, home early as instructed. As soon as I stepped in, I saw Dadi and Maa sitting with those excited smiles—the ones that scream shaadi ka rishta. I had a feeling they were up to something, but I didn't expected this early.
Dadi – “Reyansh, beta, get ready. We’re going to the Patels tonight.”
Me – “Why?”
Veer– “We’re going to talk about your rishta with Shreya.”
I froze for a moment. Not because I didn’t want it—but because it suddenly felt very real.
Me – “Does she know?”
Dadi – “No. And don’t you dare open your mouth before we talk to Nana Patel properly.”
Me – “Okay… but I don’t want her to be forced into anything.”
Mom – “We know that. Nana ji already adores you. He’s the one who wanted us to bring it up.”
I didn’t know how to feel. Excited? Nervous? Shreya was already stuck in my mind and heart—I just didn’t know if had made space in hers yet.
In the car~
Veer – “Why you looking so handsome today huh?”Me – “Gaadi chala, Veer.”
Veer – “Dadi ne bola tujhe akele bhejna dangerous hai. Kahin haan na kar de tu accidently.”
Me – “Main kisi ko haan nahi kar raha.”
Veer – “ Chal jhute, Aankhon ki chamak sab kuch bata rahi hai!”
I shook my head and looked out the window. I wasn’t going there to say yes. But I wasn’t going to say no either.
Shreya
I had a very boring day today. Just had one meeting and I am home alone doing some work. Now I'm getting ready as Dadu asked me to wear something beautiful, he's taking me somewhere I guess.I wore a deep maroon saree. Maa helped me drape it, saying I should look elegant. She didn’t tell me where we were going, just that Dadu wanted to take me out somewhere special. That itself was enough to get me curious and maybe a little suspicious. He usually tells me everything.
By 7 PM, we were all ready and seated in the couch when I heard the sound of multiple cars entering the driveway. I turned to look at Dadu.
Me – “Who’s coming?”
He smiled without saying anything.
Radha – “Rajvansh family.”
My heart skipped a beat.
Dadu – “They’re coming to discuss your rishta.”
Me – “What?! Without even asking me?”
Dadu – “You don’t need to be scared. We’re only going to talk. Nothing will be forced upon you. But I know you, and I know him—and I think you both together make sense.”
I didn’t say anything after that. I sat there, hands cold, heart thumping. I wasn’t scared of Reyansh—I was scared of what he meant to me.
The Rajvanshs entered. Reyansh walked in last. He looked... nervous. For once, I had the upper hand. Our eyes met, and for a brief second, it felt like time stopped.
We welcomed them. The formalities began. They talked, laughed, exchanged old stories about both families .
Dadi Rajvansh – “We’re not here to rush anything. But we think this alliance would be perfect, They both are an absolute match.”
Nana Patel – “Let the kids speak. If they agree, we’ll go ahead. If not, this evening stays a sweet memory.”
All eyes turned to us.
Reyansh stood up and extended his hand toward me.
Rey – “Can we talk?”
I nodded and got up. As we walked out to the garden, I looked at him.
Reyansh
As we turned into the Patel Mansion’s long driveway, my foot tapped anxiously against the car mat. The air outside looked calm, golden sun dipping behind the trees, but inside me? Chaos.
Veer, sitting beside me, was grinning like a fool.
“Smile, Romeo. Or at least blink. You look like you’re going to a courtroom, not your maybe-future-in-law’s place.”
I shot him a look.
He raised both palms, “Okay, okay. But try not to look so… constipated.”
Charming.
But the truth was — I was nervous.
And not because of the families. Not the big mansion. Not even the fact that everyone probably already expected a yes.
It was her.
The only person who could throw my heart into a boxing ring just by existing.
As we walked into the entrance, I caught the familiar scent of mogra and sandalwood — old-money elegance. But I wasn’t admiring the interiors.
I was scanning the hallway like an idiot looking for one person.
And then I saw her — Sitting gracefully with her family on the velvet couch, draped in a deep maroon saree that clung to her like poetry. Her hair was open, cascading down her shoulder, and her soft gold earrings caught the chandelier light just enough to steal my breath.
My heart forgot its usual rhythm.
She looked up — and for a second, just a second — our eyes locked.
She didn’t smile.
She didn’t need to.
Her eyes held that fire and softness that always disarmed me.
Radha whispered something in her ear and she blushed —but this quiet warmth that crept into her face.
I felt it — the pull.
The quiet, certain kind that makes you step forward without realizing.
Our families exchanged greetings, laughter, pleasantries.
But all I remember is the moment I stood in front of her and said, “Hi.”
She gave a tiny nod and replied, “Hi.”
That’s all.
And somehow, that was enough to send a rush of heat to my ears.
A little while later, we were asked to take a walk in the garden — "to talk," they said. But everyone knew what that meant.
