Despite all of Alpha Kim's previous talk about Jungkook meeting his friends, it was more than a couple of months after their wedding until he did so.
"My want to show you off has finally won over my desire to keep you all to myself," Alpha Kim had said, making Jungkook blush and almost roll his eyes.
Jungkook knew his husband well enough now that a more likely reason was Alpha Kim not wanting to overwhelm him. Jungkook surprised himself with the insight—it showed a faith in Alpha Kim that he didn't feel when he thought about it consciously. It was apparent even to him that his feelings for Alpha Kim and the fears he'd been taught by his last marriage were somehow coexisting inside him, eating each other up, unpredictable in who came out victorious.
Jungkook had been right to be nervous about the ball he was taken to. He'd forgotten how different the Southern culture was.
For starters, the party was held outside in the large plaza at the centre of the town. A live band played on a platform, the music lacking the steady tempo for the dances typical in the North. The place was glittering with little oil candles, the glass balls strung up in lines above them.
Then there was how people were dressed. How Omegas were dressed.
Jungkook had opted for light colours and had worn a long, glittering dress that hung loosely and flowed like water around him which reached his ankles and braided his long hair in a fusion of both southern and northern style braids.
