It's been almost two weeks sense Mark has resurfaced from the dead.Yet he still hasn't explain anything to me, He is purposely avoiding me. Which I can't stand!
That's why, I've decided to visit him at the bar he always seems to disappear too. Mrs. Coy and Cody don't know that he is alive yet, which I guess it a good thing, but I don't know if he is even staying.
I pick up a simple tight white v neck shirt and pair it with some shorts. for some reason they always make the men turn to look at me.... Don't get me wrong, I have no intention of attracting guys.....My heart is still with one.
Mark needs to know that I wont let this drop for easily.
After putting on make up and curling my hair, I slip on some converse then shove some money, my keys and my phone into my pocket. I sneak out of the house, not wanting to give Cody or Mrs. Coy the wrong idea.
I get in my car and drive away from the house, the dozens of questions rushing through my head.
Once I get there though, all my questions are drowned out by the sight of Mark sitting at the bar, a pretty blonde standing in between his legs, she's leaned forward whispering in his ear.
Great, now I have to deal with her and mark who will be all horny.
Just like I said; as soon as I enter the bar, head turn to look at me.
Mark glances over to see what the commotion is all about and then looks away. But his head whips back to me so fast I think he will feel that in the morning. He stares into my eyes and then checks me out, which I don't hesitate to keep walking through the many bodies to get to him.
He excuses himself from the girl, who pouts and then glares at me.
"What are you doing here?" he asks pulling me close to him, glaring at some other men staring at me.
"What do you think I'm doing here Mark?" I say sarcastically.
He looks at me for a minute, then grabs my hand and pulls me towards the back. We enter a small room and then he shuts the door behind us.
"Krisa, I-" He begins, but I cut him off.
"No Mark, you need to explain what the heck is going on." I say folding my arms a crossed my chest.
He looks me and his eye's seem to darken.
"I-.." he begins, but I can tell he is going to feed me another stupid lie.
"Explain. Now." I say again holding my ground.
He shakes his head and smiles a little bit.
"Man I've missed you fireball." he says with a stupid charming smirk. "Krisa, Taylor is one lucky man.... if only I didn't leave," he looks down and his brows furrow," maybe we could have-" he starts rambling.
"Mark. We went down that road, remember?" I say lifting his chin and his eyes fill with guilt. "You let me go, you found plenty of other girls to make you happier than I ever made you." I whisper, the fond yet hurtful memories floating in my head.
"That's not true." he pulls me into his arms, "No one was meant to replace you, just like how you couldn't replace one of them." he says sweetly, if he meant it..... I wasn't sure.
"I love Taylor." I say pushing away from his chest.
Mark lets out a sigh, "I know and I'm happy for you. He is a great guy, heck was better to you then I ever was." he says rubbing the back of his neck.
I look down as tears start to form in my eyes.
"He still loves you Krisa." Mark says lifting my chin this time.
"Explain. Now." I say flatly holding in the tears, because right now, they are the only thing I have left of Taylor......to make sure that this is real.....that I'm still here.
Mark nods," when I left for the army, it was all normal and everything was fine. Almost too easy if you ask me." he shakes his head again, clearly in a memory far away from here. "Me, and three other men were called to a area far away from camp, a special mission they called it. But boy were they right about special.... we were might to be distractions for other soldiers. we would do other shady things for higher officers too if we were told to." he sighs and runs a hand through his hair," If we didn't they would kill one of the other soldiers with us or they would hunt down our families. I couldn't do that to you guys here, I was not about to put my family in danger. So I did everything they asked, slowly I moved up in the ranks and I was told I could go. But when I left, I took as many other soldiers in my situation with me, giving them all new names and faking their deaths so that their families were safe." he pulls me into a hug again, but this time I don't push him away.
"They were trying to track me, I couldn't risk come back to tell you all I was ok. So I stayed dead. But when I found out that Taylor went onto the army, the people who sighed me up to be in that league, would defiantly make Taylor a part of it too. I run a anti- league against them, that's what "All Will Be Free" stands for," he pulls at his shirt and shows me the tattoo.
"So what your saying is-" I try to connect the dots, but my brain is still just trying to make sense of all the information I just received.
Mark puts both hands on my cheeks and looks me dead in the eye, all joking gone, all emotion gone.
"Taylor is still alive Krisa. He is still alive for now." he whispers to me as if I will turn into dust if he breaths to hard on me.
I look at him, not even knowing what my face looks like.
"Alive?" I whisper, so softly I barely get it into the air.
"Yes." Mark says with a growing smile seeing the relief fall onto my face and my whole body feels like its glowing. Tears run down my face now, but they are not from sadness or agony this time, they are form pure hope and relief that he is alive.
Alive and breathing.
Alive..........
Oh please, let him come home.
