The weekend had gone by faster than you expected it to.
Saturday afternoon rolled around, and you had found yourself once again in the company of Dave Strider and his friends, just his this time though.
The five of you spent the afternoon in the mall, checking out various stores and enjoying the company you had. You figure the best part was when you and Dave finally sat down for a breather, and found out that he just as much of a people watcher as you are.
"Okay, okay, see her?" You whisper quietly as you lean in and point inconspicuously.
"The one who looks like she painted her legs?" Dave said with a small chuckle.
"Well, her too...no, I'm talking about that young one. Her mother actually let her go out half-naked like that?" You mumble softly, and Dave shrugs.
"Oh no, hey, what about my too-cool bro over there, wearing his pointy ass shades with his crew. Man, those things wanna take your eyes out for no reason." You only chuckled at his remark.
Sure, maybe it wasn't the best way to pass the time, but you and Dave enjoyed yourselves cracked up at ironic statements being made about the people passing around you two.
But however, all good things must come to an end.
The weekend was no exception to this rule either.
Alas, it was Monday, and you had to get your head out of the clouds and return to the real world, as much as the idea saddens you.
You walk up to your locker and start gathering the binders and books you'll need for your first and second classes: financial math and English. Money management was never a problem for you, and reading literature you excelled at also. Grammar, however, was your worst enemy.
"Yo, ______!" You hear someone call to you, snapping you out of your thoughts and making you drop your book. You sigh as you close your locker and bend down for it, only to find yourself eye level with Dave Strider once again.
"Hey man, sorry again. You're pretty jumpy for someone like yourself," he says as he picks up your book and stands up straight.
"Not many people bother to talk to me in the halls, or at all for that matter. Which brings about another question: don't you have a cool dude reputation to hold up?" You ask curiously, and Dave arches a brow.
"What, you thought I wasn't gonna talk to you in the halls like some fake douche? Naw, man, fuck that. I keep it real. If anyone has anything to say about me talking to you, let them talk!" He seemed a little forceful about this, but you guess you didn't mind. It was actually refreshing to meet someone other than yourself that doesn't really care for social reputations, and you felt you could breathe a little easier now.
"Anyway.. you had called for me?" You try to change the subject, as to not allow Dave to break his cool dude façade.
"Oh yeah, hey, I was wondering if you wanted a ride home? My bro is picking me up today, since we need to head into the city after school, and since we were heading that way, I figured I could offer you a ride." He says as he leans against his locker.
The one-minute bell rang.
"I'll talk to you about it later? Meet me here after third!" You say as you rush off to class, and he nods as he starts in the direction of his own.
