The perfect match

-Steven's POV-

"Its amazing!" The comet dashed above us.

Wow. Dad was right. It is really beautiful! Just like mom...

"Yeah amazing..." Peridot calmly replied.

As we gazed upon the heavenly object, I sensed something odd. Like someone is staring at me...

I saw peridot looking at me directly even when the comet's right above us.

I caught her looking but she quickly looked away.

Hmm..Weird.

The comet went visible for a minute, then it was gone in matter of seconds.

"That was fun! We're lucky that we saw it appear that may have been once in a lifetime....well,in a human's time I guess."

"I can still see it though.." she stares at me dreamily as if she's..

" I-I,uh..it was- nothing!"
She stuttered.

Well, I guess that was nothing..beats me what it was.

Peridot sure is a little weird sometimes...and that's what I like about her!

I wonder how she's feeling right now since she's been staying with us for quite sometime now...

"Peridot, can I ask you about something?"

"Fire away! Nyahaha! Is that right? Amethyst told me that one expression you humans use!" A sudden change of mood?

Classic peri!

"Umm...Tell me what you think about us?"

She gave me a confused look. "What do you mean?"

"Well, since you've been living with us now, tell me what do you feel about me and the other crystal gems?" I sure wish that was polite enough.

She froze.

" Peridot? Are you still there? Helloooooo?"

"..next question?"

What?! She dodged? I wonder why...

"Hey! You said you're gonna answer my question!" I pouted.

"I guess I'll answer that after you think about another question.. I need time to formulate an answer.." she replied firmly.

"Hmm..let me think. Oh!! Here's a good one!

"Do you like your stay with us as of now?" I shyly asked her.

She tapped her chin slightly.

"For most cases, I dont.."

That was a bit harsh..

"Oh.." my face gradually saddened. She noticed that I bagan wearing a sulky expression.

"Hey pebble! Don't be gloomy just yet! Let me finish will ya?

Yeah, for most cases I really dont..but all in all, its been informative and..how do you say it? Ah yes, and kinda fun."

She smiled.

Its cute how she opens up like that.

"Thanks.

Hey peri! What about the other question. Can you answer it now?"

She froze. Again.
