The next morning I woke up with a sore, raging throat, which is ironic because I can't even use my voice.
I swallowed down a few tablets to try and soothe the pain. It seemed like when ever I swallowed a fire lit up in my lungs and scorched my windpipe. I kid you not, it was painful.
I checked the YouTube clip once again, only to discover it was on the top charts of most watched videos. The guy who had asked about my voice had also replied.
Ebony, I am amazed at your talent, truly your "voice" really speaks through the violin, I think you could have the potential to get into a great music collage. Good job!!
I smiled. Just this one bit of encouragement made me so much happier. Coming from a stranger, all the same I still had this overwhelming ache in my heart, it wasn't painful, it's just that it felt like it would burst, with how my joy it held.
"Ebony?" My mum shouted.
I frowned, she knows I can't reply.
"Someone's here?" She trailed off her voice in a teasing sort of way and from the tone in her voice I could tell she was smirking.
At this I grinned, she must be talking about Gunther. To be sure I checked the window, from there I could see his car in our driveway.
I quickly pulled my hair up into a pony tail, changed into a casual top and some jeans. Then, applied some lip gloss, and a spray of perfume before heading downstairs.
"Hey gorgeous?" Gunther sent one of his signature smirks my way.
I hugged him before typing on my tablet.
Hi handsome, guess how many views the video has?
I handed the tablet to him.
"Um, now... How many was it again?" He joked, "oh yes it's in the millions now isn't it!" He laughed.
"What is?" My mum asked.
"The video, we showed you the other day, the one of Ebony, it's in the millions now," Gunther answered for both of us.
"Is it really?" Mum looked shocked.
I nodded.
And it's all thanks to him, I wrote.
"Could I watch it again?" My mum questioned.
"Yeah sure I have it on my phone now," Gunther pulled it out of the pocket of his jeans, "and Ebony's gonna hate me for this but I set it as my ring tone too," he laughed.
He played it on his phone, directing the screen towards my mum. She watched on in silence, taking in every sound as though it was oxygen, at one point she closed her eyes, and when the last few notes played out tears fell down her face. She put her hand up to her mouth and let out a subtle cry.
"Sorry," she sniffed, "I'm so sorry,"
"It's okay," Gunther comforted her, "really it's fine."
"It's just that you play so beautifully Ebony, but you never show anyone, heck I didn't even know you were this amazing, honey! I just wish you'd realise how beautiful you really are!" My mum drew me in for a hug.
I signed a quick 'thank you' and 'I love you' before brushing my own tears off my face.
"I love you too Ebony," she sighed, then she smiled, "and thank you Gunther for discovering her secret talent, now enough of this you two go have fun! Ebony I put some money in your purse this morning, have fun at the mall."
Authors note: sorry it's been so long I'm horrible at consistency. Hope you like this, one.
