One year earlier...
"Close your eyes" Noel whispered. "Why?" Cady whispered back, grinning and leaning a little closer to him. "Just do it" he laughed and pulled her onto his bed."just becuase we're roommates now doesn't mean you can have me whenever you want!" she laughed, eyes still closed. "Cady, its not that! I just wanted to ask you something-"
"Yes!"
"I havnt asked you anything yet, you Berk" he laughed lying down next to her on the bed and kissing her cheek. "Open your eyes" he whispered. She did so, seeing two tickets to the theatre held in front of her. "Tickets to theatre? What are we, a couple from the 40's?" She laughed, Noels face dropped. "I'm just joking! Oh Noel, you are adorable" she smiled and cuddled closer to him. She was almost laying on top of him as she rested her hands and head on his chest. He put his arm around her and kissed her head."So you two were close?" The cleaning lady smiled. "Very" he sighed and smiled to himself. "I bet she was beautiful" the cleaner whispered softly. "...very" he laughed. "So, were you two, um..." She hesitated. Noel looked at her and nodded. "...What happened next?"
Noel took a deep breath before going on. "We went to the theatre and all was well...until something happened...once the play was over most people recollected at the bar...""Okay baby, I'm just going to have a chat with some of the actors, alright? I'll just be over there" Noel said, pointing over to a crowd of people in the corner of the room. "Okay..." she smiled, though a shiver ran up her spine as she spotted something - someone - in the corner of her eye. "...What's wrong?" Noel asked, suddenly spotting her insecurity, putting his hand on her shoulder in attempt to comfort her. "Nothing, I'm fine" she lied, forcing a smile for him. He smiled back and put his arms around her waist, drawing her closer. "You look gorgeous" he sighed "very sophisticated"
"Doesnt sound like me" she laughed. "I think, Cady Barratt, you don't realise just how brilliant you actually are" he grinned. "See you around" he kissed her lightly on the lips before leaving for the other side of the room.Cady shook her head and smiled. "Prosseco please" she grinned to the bar tender. Suddenly, she felt something brushing past her shoulder. She looked around to see a tall man dressed smartly in a shirt and velvety overcoat, resembling Noels outfit very closely. "Oh, hi" Cady smiled up at him, he was very tall, must have been about 6'8. "D-do you need anything? I-Im Cady...what's your name?"
"Oh names arent important" the man chuckled but suddenly the smile melted and was replaced by a much darker expression "I just have a job to do"
"What's that?" Cady felt another shiver dart up her spine and her blood turn cold. The stranger put his hand firmly on her back and pushed a little. He then put his lips to hers and kissed her hard. She tried to push him away but he was too strong. The stranger then discreetly put his hand into her drink, slipped some kind of pill into the liquid and removed his hand again. He let go of her, she stumbled back. No doubt would she have had a huge rant at the man if he had not made himself scarce Immeadiatly after. She gasped for breath before stumbling over to her partner at the other side of the room. "Ey, here she is!" Noel grinned when he saw Cady. "Noel, I..." She breathed, clinging on to him, the velvet of his coat clutched in her fists. "Cady, hun, are you okay?" He noticed her unusual clingy mood. "I...I...I-I..." She struggled. Luckily, Noel was ready to catch her fall when she collapsed in his arms.
