"Be careful." You'd told Jasper earlier when you got wind of his desire to go exploring with a few others.

"I'll be fine." He assured you as the little group congregated a short distance away from you. You could see Monty talking to Finn. "Monty'll look out for me." He assured you, kissing you lightly on the cheek before scampering off.

But that had been ages ago now, and when the group finally arrived your heart sunk. Jasper was nowhere to be seen.

"Where is he?" You asked desperately, only being beaten to the little group by Bellamy who was instantly by Octavia's side.

Monty's eyes were red. None of them looked too good, which only made your sense of worry increase.

"He- um, he's." Stuttered Monty, wetting his lips and being unable to meet your eyes.

Before you could question him too much Bellamy had dragged them away to explain everything to him. You tried desperately to follow him, but Murphy was already there, acting as Bellamy's bodyguard and forcing you away from them.

And so it began. The waiting. The inability to move your thoughts from worries about Jasper. What could have happened to him? Why had the others not brought him back? Surely this wasn't how almost a decade of friendship ended. And why was no one giving you answers?! How did they expect you to sit there while Jasper was evidently missing?

You stopped pacing and began towards the edge of camp.

"That's not such a good idea." Said Monty, making you jump.

All your worries, your irritation at not being told anything, rose to the surface.

"It's the best one we've had!" You said shrilly, narrowing your eyes at him.

"Monty, Jasper's gone and no one-"

"We're gonna get him back." He assured you, cutting your argument short.

It didn't stop the worries, in fact it only added to them, but you nodded.

"When do we leave?" You asked, balling your hands by your sides and squaring your shoulders slightly.

Monty had already begun to shake his head. "You need to stay here. I've got some work to do, you can-"

"You can't expect me to sit here twiddling my thumbs!"

Monty shone you a weak smile. "They've already left." He muttered, causing your irritation to bubble up further. "Hey." He soothed quickly, resting a hand on your arm. "He needs you to be all right. He needs you to be here when he gets back, yeah?"

You sighed, feeling the tears of worry prickling your eyes. You nodded, somewhat begrudging, and wandered towards the edge of the camp where most people were gathered, assuming that was where the others had left.

The worry for Jasper never subsided. As the day wore on you couldn't help but dwell on the horrors that might have happened. Each seemed more seeped in mythology than the anything you'd seen on Earth so far, but it didn't matter. Your best friend was out there and no one was letting you help!

"You're back!" You said, jumping up as the little group shifted into the camp awkwardly. But then your eyes fell on Jasper.

"Jasp!" You cried, running over to him. You shifted the others apart to hold his hand, gently rubbing the back of it and trying to say soothing words despite the tears running down your cheeks and the worries that once more crashed over you.

"We'll save him." Clarke assured you, resting a hand lightly on your shoulder as you moved towards the dropship.

You nodded, moving to kiss Jasper lightly on the cheek. "You're gonna be all right, Jasp." You whispered, trying to let him know but also assure yourself.
