Bonus Chapter: The 抖阴社区rs' Club

My eyes widened upon seeing what she was referring to. "Oh my god."

Caty smiled shyly. "Yes."

"No shit."

Brookes giggled. "Isn't this great news?". Obviously she already knew and was enjoying seeing Lia and I's reaction.

"When??" I stared at the big shiny rock set on a white gold band adorning Caty's ring finger.

"He proposed the other night," she replied and then turned to the man beside her, who was just watching the exchange with a grin on his face.

"Babe!" Lia and I screamed in unison, which temporarily drew the attention of the guests. "Sorry," I mouthed.

"Congratulations!" Lia whisper yelled as she pulled Caty into another tight embrace.

I waited for my turn and did the same.

"Brookes," Lia said, "there has to be at least champagne. This deserves a celebration."

The host replied with a smirk. "Of course there is. But that has to wait until after the party. I'm still on mommy duty."

As if on cue, there was a round of applause. The show was done and they announced that it was time to blow the candles.

We watched as Brookes went up to Chadd and picked up Maddie. With a child each in their arms, they walked up to the table with the cake. The host led the singing of the birthday song and we sang along. The couple then blew a candle each, and the crowd once again applauded.

The celebration went on for another two hours. The girls, Benjamin and I stayed in one corner and mostly just observed the scene. Two years ago I never would have thought I'd see Brookes with a child, let alone two. It brought me so much joy watching her interact with the twins and witness her treat them like the prince and princess that they are on their special day. Chadd was on full on dad mode as well, assisting Brookes and making sure the guests were well attended to.

There were a few people from the office who were in attendance. Sherry was with Adam, her husband, and their two boys. I also saw Bea and Lillian, the lesbian couple with their adopted son, Michael. Aside from them, most were strangers to us since they comprised mainly of Brookes' and Chadd's families and Chadd's coworkers.

My sightseeing was interrupted by LIa's elbowing of my flank. "Check out that hottie over there," she whispered.

I followed her gaze and spotted a tall, dark man dressed in a buttoned up polo top and dark jeans. "Hmmm. Looks like his sleeves are going to pop. Boy's got some killer arms."

"I bet he can easily throw me over his shoulder and carry me around like a rag doll."

I slapped her arm. "Bitch, at least wait until the party's over before you start lusting over the guests."

"Ow!" she hissed. "It's not a crime, okay."

"I wonder who he is."

"Who are we talking about?" Caty chimed in.

Lia pointed at killer arms man.

"Oh. Not sure what his name is but I think he's one of Chadd's friends. He participated in a game earlier," the blonde explained.

"Huh."

Right then killer arms man looked in our direction and caught us all staring at him. He gave a curt smile before turning away.

"Shit," Lia cursed. A faint blush rose to her cheeks.

Caty laughed. "Oh my god, you're blushing!"
