Do they really need to worry so much about exams?

•••(pre-kageyamapocalypse)

Hinata shook Kageyama's shoulders in a desperate attempt to restart the breathing cycle, and looked to Rei with anxious eyes.

"Reiiiiiiii~ Kageyama hasn't started breathing again! Heeelllppp!"

Tch.

"Hinata, he's just very, very stressed out, I can fix this easily." Rei began to walk towards the pair, but Hinata frantically started waving his hands in her direction as if warding off an evil spirit.

"R-Rei... T-that smile is scary..."

Rei, much to Hinata's distress, finally reached the duo and stopped. She cracked her knuckles in preparation for something, a knowing and slightly terrifying grin playing across her face as she slowly drew her leg back, then swinging it full force straight towards the ravenette's sagging head.

The blow of impending doom and suffering never arrived, because when Rei's foot was about thirty centimetres away from Kageyama's head the boy's eyes seemed to regain life in a rush of fear and he ducked down just in time, his forehead nearly hitting the floor as the wannabe ninja's foot went whistling over his quaking form.

Ooh, knew it would work.

Huh?

Rei looked up and around the gym, and realised that every single person there was staring in wonder at her and the traumatised shaking lump called Kageyama.

"Well, you know, uh, I'll be off..." Rei announced as she hurriedly made her exit.

•••(post-kageyamapocalypse)

She let out a huge yawn as she flopped down on to her bed, relishing in the comfort of her one true love, the great, one and only Bed-chan. She lazily waved her foot in the direction of a certain cat who looked unbelievably overjoyed to see her owner, now attempting to beckon to the feline with her leg but, unfortunately, to no avail.

Aaaahhh... Guchi-chan, why do you not love me? Yeesh.

Rei couldn't be bothered to get up and get into her pyjamas, it was the weekend tomorrow anyway so who cared if she looked like a hobo who slept in a bush when she woke up? Not her. She grabbed the edge of the duvet and rolled herself up like a burrito, and felt her eyelids getting heavy pretty darn quick. That band of idiots tires me out... Uuuggghhh...

She felt a pair of warm, large hands grab her around the waist and swing her up into the air, the pleasant summer breeze wafting through her hair and raising a few of the long brown strands that fluttered like fraying ribbons.

"Come on, Rei, it's time to leave now!" A low voice rang in her ears, as if it were through water. She felt a high pitched squeal escape from her mouth as she wriggled to escape the tall blonde's grip.

"Aah! Let me go, big brother! I don't want to leave yet! Play with me on the swings a bit longer!"

"Rei... Don't be so stubborn!" The same voice exclaimed as she gave a particularly energetic squirm, almost making the older boy drop her onto the strangely perfect green grass below.

"Aww, come on! I don't wanna go yet!"

"Hah... Fine, just a couple more minutes, okay? Then I'll drive us back home, no complaining. Got it?"

"Uh huh! I love you, big brother!" She shouted as she was gently placed back onto the floor, running towards the swings the moment her short legs hit the floor.

"Come on, wait for me!"

"Hurry up! I'm a big girl now, I can run really fast so you've gotta keep up!"

"You're only eight!"

"Yeah, I'm a big girl, right?"

"Right..." He said, and he walked towards her.

Rei sat up suddenly, gasping for breath as she stared wildly around the room and desperately tried to free herself from the hot, twisted duvet that seemed to suffocate her.

"Big brother?" She whimpered quietly, and as she raised her hand to her cheek she felt wet tears only just beginning to dry on her boiling cheeks. She fought down a sob, trying, trying as hard as she could to recall every second of that dream.

Before it all turned to dust.
